She gritted her teeth and looked behind her where a tall tree had been planted. She leaned against the wall with her boots and bounced towards it with all her might. She avoided being hit by more arrows. She hit the trunk hard and fell to the ground, trying her best to catch herself. She hit a branch with her knees, using which she turned in the air and landed on the ground with her feet. She let out an exhausted breath and tossed her hair back, feeling a sharp pain on her forehead from hitting the tree. She stood up quickly and ran across the courtyard, which was without people. She nervously pulled the door handle to the conference room where Levi was supposed to be waiting. They were locked. Frowning, she walked over to the window where she looked in but saw no movement. Her heart was pounding. She turned back to the courtyard, which was quiet. She expected Stownes to come after her right away, but nothing happened. She carefully walked over to the prison, which was another option for her, where Levi would be kept. She ran down the stairs, only to see empty cells. What she recognized as suspicious were the only one opened jail. She walked closer and scanned the small room. She noticed blood on the floor. She knelt down to the small, red drops, which she poked her finger into to see if it was fresh. She gritted her teeth and left the cell, heading deeper into the dark, underground. After a few steps, her eyes got used to the darkness and she saw the view of cobbled streets and many corridors, resembling a maze. She sighed and randomly chose one direction to continue on. She arrived at the corridor, which was lit by small candles. But she realized that she had reached a dead end. She sighed again and decided to at least look through the small bars on the doors. Right at the first one, she saw a bunch of people sitting together in the corner of a small cell. She looked around, wondering how she could release the lock. She took one candle and placed it near the lock, which lit up. When it was already changing its color to red, she returned the candle to its place, took out a dagger, which she turned and used the hilt to smash it. She opened the door and ran inside, where her sudden arrival caused chaos. She immediately put her index finger to her mouth.

"Please don't worry, I will help you, but you must be quiet!" She swallowed her anger as she looked at the faces she recognized. The elderly couple snuggling together were Simon's parents. The two smaller children were the offspring of the Patress, and finally she walked over to a trembling young girl, only slightly older than her. She grabbed her shoulder and she raised a frightened look at her. Two red roses were clearly marked on that shoulder.

"You're Olivia, am I right?" She asked her with a smile. She nodded. "Do you remember me? I'm Theia Smith, also in the military garrison. Are you Bred's girlfriend?" Tears welled up in the girl's eyes. She fell into Theia's arms where she cried.

"I knew I could trust him!" She sobbed. "He said he would send us help. He really did," she raised her tearful gaze to Thea. She didn't have the heart to tell her the truth. This is not the place where she should get to know that her boyfriend is a traitor, that he never once mentioned her being imprisoned with him, and that he is actually dead now. She let her cry quietly on her lap and after a short while helped her to her feet. Her blood boiled at the thought of what those people had to go through. She helped the elderly couple out and began thinking about a plan to get the group to safety.

"Ms. Soldier, there's another next door," the older man told her in a hoarse voice. Theia frowned and turned to the door, which she opened like the one before. She carefully entered the dark room. She held the candle in her hands and walked closer to the figure sitting in the corner. She hoped with all her heart that she had found him. She knelt down in front of the only person sitting on the ground, but it was immediately clear to her that it wasn't Levi. The figure was tall, had longer hair and a very massive body.

"Sir," she touched his hand gently. He pushed her away with all his might and Theia fell to the ground. She looked in his direction in surprise. He stood up and raised his leg, ready to attack. She immediately jumped back and the blow that was aimed at her ended up in the wall. He turned back to her. "Hey! I came to help you!" She shouted and the man stopped right in front of her with a clenched fist.
