Trost District August 20th 9:05 am year 850
"So, I'd like to clarify something," she passed a stern look from Hanje's green face to Levi's unimpressed one, as they both stood in front of her desk in the office. "You were drinking. And without me? Are you serious that I have become a commandant and I started to be invisible to you?" She frowned in concern.
"Theia. It's all your fault!" Hanje began, but Levi immediately interrupted her words.
"You don't want to tell me that you were planning to drink alcohol. Forget about it," he silenced her in a firm voice and turned towards the kitchen, where he squeezed the apple juice in the morning. He took the glass in his hands and placed it in front of Theia, who watched him with a shocked expression. She looked into his eyes with a frown and raised her index finger in front of him.
"We two broke up yesterday!" She reminded him and Levi scoffed.
"No," he answered simply and Theia opened her mouth in surprise.
"But yes!" She assured him, but he turned his back on her to close one of the windows.
"I don't remember anything like that," he snapped as Theia just stared at him in confusion.
"What are you doing?" She frowned.
"I have a feeling that you already told him the news," Hanje looked at Levi, who adjusted the curtain.
"Don't want you to catch the cold. And foureyes, what was the idea of making her a commandant when she's in the state she is in?!"
"You can clearly see why I didn't want to tell him earlier!" Theia answered Hanje as they both completely ignored Levi's question.
"Hey! Also forget about getting annoyed!" He warned her again and sat down at the table to start peeling a bowl full of apples. Theia ran her tongue over her teeth in irritation.
"You're the one who's annoying me here,"
"I think it's nice," Hanje commented and stole one of Levi's apples to bite into.
"Really? He stayed up until morning and read all the pregnancy books he could find at the base. I didn't believe there were any here at all!"
"Why did you think that? There are 35% women at the base, maybe you don't expect that you are the first pregnant," Hanje informed her and sat down on Theia's table, who rolled her eyes.
"He bought the whole apple market in the morning," Theia grumbled angrily.
"Vitamins are important for a child," Levi explained his actions and continued peeling the fruit.
"He wouldn't let me go down the stairs," Theia continued irritably.
"What if you fall," Levi replied a little too calmly, putting the cleaned apples into a perfect pile. Theia starred in his direction in shock.
"You're not serious!?"
"That's so sweet," Theia glared at Hanje after her remark. "I meant the apples, of course," Hanje looked away and swallowed the whole fruit also with the stem. Theia closed her eyes, exhaled and massaged the area between her eyes. She wondered how her father was able to keep this gang at bay.
"I have to ask you to keep the fact that I'm pregnant to yourself for a few more weeks. The soldiers probably wouldn't be happy about that news."
"They'd try to have a note," Levi remarked, but Theia tried to ignore his words.
"We have to keep it a secret. I don't think troop morale is our only problem. The problem is who you have the child with," Hanje began seriously, and Levi turned the knife in his hands.
