As soon as she got back to the base, she took off her jacket, which she threw on the hanger and turned towards the window, where she was staring at the night sky. She opened it wide and let the warm, summer breeze hit her face. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She listened to the sounds that were taking place in the streets. Laughter and singing of people, melodious music, wires from ODM gear... Huh? She quickly opened her eyes to look directly into Levi's. He was kneeling just in front of her, on her windowsill, wearing a fixed gear.

"Do you know there are stairs leading up to my room?" She crossed her arms over her chest.

"I want to show you something," he said calmly, offering her his hand.

"Wait, I have to put on my gear..." he pulled her to him and took her in his arms. Theia gasped and gripped to his neck tightly. She closed her eyes in fear.

"Are you afraid, even though you're with me?" He asked with a soft smile, driving his anchor into another of the buildings.

"I don't like losing control," she whispered against his clothes, breathing in his soapy scent.

"Then you'll have to trust me," he hugged her even tighter as he swung himself up to the last building before the walls.

"Is the gear even safe to operate with, when you are carrying me like this?" She buried her head in his shoulder.

"It's hard, but possible for me," he answered simply and far too calmly, which did nothing to stop her shaking with fear. After a short while, he landed safely with his feet firmly on the ground and carefully placed Theia, who opened her eyes to notice that they were on the wall. She watched Levi as he sat by its edge and stared at the sky. So, she also raised her gaze. Millions of shining stars dotted the black sky reflected from her green eyes. She opened her mouth in astonishment. She had never seen anything like it in Trost. She did not see, or did not try to see. It seemed to her like a glittering city of angels. "Do you think they're out there somewhere?" Levi's deep voice interrupted her thoughts.

"All the ones we lost?" She answered his question with a question and walked closer to him. Uncertainly, she knelt next to him, turned her back to him, and then lay down on the stone pavement. Levi had his legs draped over the edge of the wall and his arms propped up so that he was looking comfortably above himself. He relaxed his hands and also lay down. His head was right next to hers and his eyes still followed the beauty above him. Like water in a river, the stars flowed on their way, which ended somewhere in the distance beyond the horizon, hiding from their curious gaze.

"Where do you think the stars hide when it's daytime?" Theia asked and Levi smiled in disbelief. "Today I spoke with a boy who has a book where places strewn with sand or an endless lake with salt water are described. Maybe somewhere beyond these walls is also a place where the stars go to sleep," Theia turned to look him in the face. She could clearly see the features of his pale skin, his cheekbones, chin and lips, but also the small wrinkles around his eyes, which she loved incredibly. She raised her hand to touch him, but left it in the air. She didn't want to spoil this view. He blinked occasionally, but kept looking up, lost in his own thoughts. She didn't want to destroy the atmosphere anymore with her talk about nonsense and returned her dreamy gaze to the stars.

"After Furlan and Isabel died, I spent a lot of time here imagining they were up there," she heard his soft voice. She didn't have the courage to turn to him again. He had never talked about them before. He never even talked about himself before at all. "The only thing that always comforted me was the thought that they were in a place where they weren't suffering anymore," Theia remembered Miss Theresa saying the same words.
