Chapter XXX.

"Did you kill that woman and child?" Theia asked and the girl's crying became uncontrollable.

"Jenny, what are you doing here?" Theia immediately pulled the crying girl behind her back. She looked up at the entrance to the alley, where an emaciated girl stood in torn clothes. She was holding a butcher knife in her hands and she walked closer to them.

"Hey, are you kidding me?" Theia raised her voice. "Did you really kill the child?"

"It was the child of the bastard who kidnapped us. It didn't deserve to live, and neither did that whore," she said in a madly voice. She came closer again and Theia backed away with the girl behind her. "Jenny, you betrayed me?" She tried to find her friend's gaze.

"Give her a break. I'm the one talking to you," Theia brought her attention again.

"I have nothing to talk about with you. You are all the same. You let him live after all he did to us and all those girls. Can you even imagine how many times they raped us?" She turned the knife in her hands. "You should experience it yourself to understand my pain," she added and ran towards Theia. She simply grabbed her hand with the weapon, twisted it and with all her strength threw the girl to the ground. She started kicking and punching around herself, scratching Theia's wrist with the knife. The girl she was hiding with her own body screamed and tried to run away. Theia turned behind her to stop her, but that was enough for Susan to get to her feet and attack again. Theia hit her head with her elbow, turned around, took out a short dagger and used it to knock the knife out of her hand. She turned once more and tripped over her feet. Susan fell to the ground.

"You don't understand anything at all. What we experience every day in order to survive," she growled at her. "And you protected a criminal,"

"But I see that by saving you, I also protected a criminal," Theia said in a calm voice. The girl on the ground sat down in surprise. "Who do you think you are, to give yourself the right to kill an innocent woman and child..."

"But they weren't innocent!" She screamed at her in agony.

"They couldn't blame them for the sins that man committed to you!" She answered her in a raised voice.

"You're responsible for how many women he's going to rape again since you kept him alive!" She screamed again and got to her feet. She ran to the knife that was still lying on the ground and took it in her hands. Theia shook her head.

"Don't do it," she pleaded. The girl ran towards Theia, ready to block her next, senseless attack. But Jenny ran in front of her and stood right between her and crazy Susan. She did not have time to react and she stabbed her friend directly into the chest. Theia gasped. She immediately ran to them and pulled the lifeless body of the little girl from the knife, who had collapsed to the ground.

"Susan, I'm sorry, I never made the right decision in my life," she said in a low voice. Theia supported her head with one hand and pressed her other hand against the bleeding wound. Blood immediately began to flow down her fingers.

"It's your fault," Susan whispered.

"Shut up already! I have to take her to the hospital!" She screamed causing Susan to stop.

"Someone like you will never understand us," she whispered again, and Theia's cup of patience overflowed. She stood in front of the girl and knocked her out with one well-aimed blow to the neck. Theia let her fall to the ground and then she took the injured girl in her arms. She walked with her back to the gate.

"Hannes!" She called from a distance. "Hannes!!!" She called again and a man ran out of the small guardhouse with a bottle of beer in his hands. "You have to help me immediately!" The man ran to her.
