Chapter XXI. The roses and the thorn

"Enough Levi!" With the last of her strength, she pulled his hand from her thighs so she could dig her fingers into his hair and push him from her lap. Levi straightened and licked his lips very slowly looking with satisfaction at her state. His eyes dark like his messy hair.

"I told you clearly that you will not sleep tonight princess," she pulled her knees to her body and turned to hide under the covers.

"Clearly! I already understood now! So you can stop taking revenge," Levi frowned at her words and moved closer to her face to caress her cheek.

"But this is no revenge. I just can't get enough of you," Theia widened her eyes and turned to him in shock.

"You greedy Ackerman!" She hid her head under the covers again and Levi laughed heartily. He leaned his hands next to her, thanks to which she could see his wedding ring again, but also his bloody bruises. "It suits you," she whispered that he almost didn't hear her.

"Huh?" He asked to make sure he knew what he was talking about.

"A ring. You don't wear it often, but I can't say the same about those wounds," she added seriously, stroking his hands. She should feel pleased that he got revenge on those bastards from the military police, but she didn't.

"It's nothing," he caressed the almost healed wounds and ran his fingers over her skin, which bore quite a large number of small scars, which he examined with a searching gaze.

"What are you doing?" She asked in a sweet voice as he ran his fingers over one of the largest scars that ran from her side down her entire back caused by whip.

"I see how many times you needed me and I didn't save you," Theia looked surprised into his eyes, which looked at her body with such love, even though it was far from perfect.

"Don't say nonsense, I know how to protect myself perfectly," she tried to sound calm, but she bit her lips to stop smiling, thanks to the feelings of happiness he created in her.

"I know. Well, I'd like to stand by your side whenever it's too much for you," he whispered, covering her thoroughly so he could stand up and pull on his pants. She watched with curious eyes as he walked around the bed and stopped by his bag, from which he took out something that he hid behind his back. He stood up and walked back to her on his knees to sit directly in front of her. "Close your eyes," he asked her in a low voice. She examined him until she finally closed her eyelids. She heard a match strike and suddenly felt his lips on hers. He kissed her gently and laned to her ear. "Happy birthday, starlight," she opened her eyes in surprise to find that the room was lit by a tiny candle sticking out of a piece of chocolate cake that Levi was holding on a tray in his hands. She frowned emotionally. "I had different plans. I wanted a delicious dinner for you, flowers, dancing, a glass of wine, a walk under the stars. I finally realized that even if it didn't work out, all those things are so ordinary... so..." he looked down. Theia smiled gently and touched his hands, which he slowly placed on the bed along with the tray. She pulled them up again and looked enthusiastically at the tiny flame. She closed her eyelids tightly to blow out the candle. "What did you wish for?" he asked as darkness embraced the room again.

"I wished, I can eat chocolate cake with you every year on my birthday," she replied, and he closed his eyes with a sigh. He placed the tray on the bed and buried his face in his hands, which Theia was genuinely surprised by. "What has happened?" She reached for his hands and Levi looked away.

Loving you is the most beautiful feeling I've experienced in my life. It all started when I never expected that something like this could happen to me. I didn't have a clue what love is. And then, the most beautiful chapter of my life has begun. You pulled me out of the shits you had no idea about, so beautiful your soul is. And I realized that I had become a better man. After all, I fell in love with the person I want to spend the rest of my days with. I started to behave better, think better, wait better. I don't know if it's right, I don't know if this attitude will hurt me in the future. But that's how simple I am, I can't control myself when it comes to you. I'm losing control and for the first time in my life, I don't mind... because of you, I am able to do anything.
