DISTRKT SHIGANSHINA, 18. September 844 survey corps base
"Petra, you have to keep in the air longer! Oluo, grab that fucking blade again! It can't happen to you to lose one during an expedition!" Levi yelled and turned toward Theia, who sat in a nearby shelter. He exhaled and walked toward her. She straightened when he noisily put his leg on the bench, just next to her. "I told you to go to the base," Theia watched his leg on which white pants were stuck from the rain.
"Does that mean I have to listen to your orders when you are a captain now?" She raised one eyebrow and examined his wet skin and hair. It seemed incredibly sexy to her. Her view fell on new members of his unit. "Do you really need to torture them?" She asked and looked into his steel eyes again.
"The weather is getting worse every day. According to the commandant, we will leave for the last expedition a little earlier. I want them to be able to control the equipment during the rain," he informed her, watching the poor Petra fall into the mud from quite a decent height.
"I understand," she really understood his intentions. Too well. "But wouldn't it be better if the expedition was canceled for once? I don't remember raining so much in this time of year," Levi pulled his leg, crossing his hands on his chest.
"I think it's impossible. According to Erwin's words, this weather destroys the harvest. And if it starts to snow, we couldn't go out at all," Theia exhaled, and looked at the water stream that rolled from the cornice of the shelter under which she was hiding. She had a bad feeling. This situation seemed suspiciously familiar to her.
"I was hoping you would have better conditions during your first expedition as a captain. You are pushing yourself too much," she whispered in a quiet voice, as if she didn't even want him to hear it. She felt that he was not at all concerned about her distress. He was too employed by his new position, work and unit. He spent many hours of training, neverending meetings, and the little time he had left he spent with her.
"Wait for me in my office, I don't want you to get cold here," she avoided his look, irritably. "Don't worry. Shadis also said that we would only leave when the weather stabilized. He also doesn't want to risk lives unnecessarily," he assured her in a calm voice, putting the documents on one pile to hand it to her. "Please go. I will be with you in a moment," he said calmly and rolled his eyes after Petra had fallen for the tenth time. He turned away from the worried Theia and stepped back into the rain to put Petra on her feet in one stroke. He stood behind her back and held her hands in his to show her how to control the gear more effectively. Theia knew it, and yet this view didn't seem nice. Not because Levi was so close to Petra. But because she saw Petra was blushing even from a distance. She got up and took the documents she hid under her jacket. She ran flooded streets back to the main building and returned to the Levi's office, from which she even had the keys. She stepped inside and immediately laid the documents so that she could set the fire. She shaked by cold and threw a few more logs when she heard the door click.
"That was really fast," she straightened, but her jaw almost fell to the floor when she noticed a tall, black -haired aristocrat lady. Her voice stuck in her throat.
"Oh. Captain. Nice to see you again. But what are you doing in the office of Mr. Ackerman?" Without invitation, Lorelei entered the room.
"I could ask the same thing," Theia closed the door from the stove, watching a lady who put down a wet umbrella.
"In the northeastern part of the walls, we own a huge residence with a horse farm. I wanted to ride, but that downpour quite surprised me, so I stopped here. The weather in Shiganshina is not very friendly, right? "She sat down at the Levi's table and offered herself grapes from a porcelain bowl.
