"The Patress are dead," she sat cross-legged in her commandant's office with a glass of gin in her hands. Pixis frowned.
"So, our worst assumptions come true," he noted gravely. "How did you find out?" He looked up at her.
"Levi and I visited their farm yesterday and we found them nailed to the wall in their own bedroom," she looked out the window in disgust.
"Why did you go there?" He raised one eyebrow.
"After Marcus disappearance, his mission was solved by Bred. I think that man knows more than he told to us. I wanted to speak to him but I was informed that he was already translated in Mitras," Pixis nodded.
"Do you still want to go see him?" He continued his questions. Theia thought about it.
"No," Pixis sipped from his own glass.
"That doesn't look like you," Theia stood up sharply and turned to face him.
"I think you understand it well, Commander. I am dangerous for my surroundings! The probability that they will come after me and kill everyone they find next to me is too high!" She also took a sip.
"Theia," Pixis stopped her in a calm voice. "You are surrounded by trained soldiers, not farmers. Don't underestimate the people around you," the office door opened and two cadets stood in it, letting in a shorter, black-haired man.
"Levi Ackerman. Nice to see you again. You are welcome to our dining room for a breakfast," Levi nodded politely and looked at Theia standing nearby. She looked into his eyes awkwardly.
"Theia, I forbid you to try to solve the situation yourself," Pixis continued their conversation, but she didn't look excited twice. Pixis sighed. "It could happen that you will be the one who loses life," he added.
"I'd rather die than to endanger another soldier who has nothing to do with my problem," she continued.
"But what makes you think that the people around you have nothing to do with it?" He smiled a little and glanced at Levi, who had an unreadable expression out of the corner of his eye. "I am going to speak to cadet one more time and we'll try to find out if he doesn't know anything about Sebastian. For now, you will return to the Shiganshina and sent me reports every day. After we find out something, we have to start taking action to finally stop this murder," he said seriously and slid down in his chair. "You are dismissed for now," he added and Theia saluted to leave with Levi. They walked silently down the corridor leading to the room where they slept at night. She planned to clean it up, take her clothes with weapons and leave as soon as possible. She opened the door and she jumped at the sight of the perfectly tidy room. She closed the door again to make sure it was right one, but Levi rolled his eyes and walked in first.
"You did that?" She asked in surprise and stepped to the room, still looking around.
"Someone left without saying a word in the morning, so I shortened the wait," he took her clothes, neatly folded in a pile to his hands and handed them to her. Theia furrowed her brows piteously.
"I'm sorry, I've never seen you sleep so sweetly. I didn't want to wake you up," she apologized.
"Sweetly?" He frowned and picked up a couple of weapons from the ground, which he also handed to her, looking at them with interest.
"Why didn't you sleep in bed?" She asked him, taking the long daggers from him, which she fastened to her knee. She wondered to herself how naturally she could talk to him after last night.
"I often sleep in a chair, the armchair is quite comfortable," Theia looked into his eyes, which were lined with dark circles.
"So, you suffer of insomnia and you also sleep on a chair?" She raised an eyebrow and he rolled his eyes.
