The 57th expedition was completely sabotaged by a female titan who killed a huge number of scouts including Levi's entire elite unit. The captain himself injured his leg, during the rescue of Eren Jaeger, due to which he was temporarily out of service, and the scouting unit faced a huge criticism from all sides. again.
No one knows how many times I sat in my room and cried. How many times I lost hope, how many times I couldn't continue, how many times I held back tears... Often, the strongest people are the ones who cry behind closed doors and fight battles no one knows about...But she knows that... she knows me... really well.

"Hi Theia, how is Levi?" Theia was just paying for medicinal herbs that she bought at the market and didn't have a chance to dry herself. She turned to the girl who always wore a sweet smile in her memories. Today she was wearing a black dress and a painful look.
"Emily," she addressed her, suddenly feeling uneasy. "He is injured, but he is doing well. I just bought some herbs that might give him some relief," she tried to start a conversation, but she couldn't shake off the distressing feeling. "I am sorry. Eld was my classmate and Levi respected him a lot," she didn't know what else to say in this situation. Every single word of empathy was always useless.
"Well thank you. Eld will be missed by all of us. I was just about to send the letters of cancellation of our wedding," they paused for a moment. "I'm glad to hear that Levi is doing well. It must be pleasant to participate in expeditions with living shields around," after Emily's words, Theia looked into her eyes in surprise. "Of course he can call himself humanity's strongest soldier, when he lets everyone around him die just to survive."
"Emily, you are completely wrong. He always came back with the whole team, but this expedition was just different!"
"Where was he? Tell me Theia, where was he when Eld died? Didn't he call himself their captain? So what was he doing when they needed him the most?" Theia just silently opened her mouth. After all, she couldn't tell her the top secret information about the female titan. Emily smiled sadly. "I always admired Levi and Commandant Erwin for coming back alive under all circumstances, but now I know why. You're lucky your husband is the invulnerable Captain Ackerman, the one sacrificing all his comrades so he and the Commandant can climb over the corpses to a success something no one but them can see," Emily plunged a knife into Theia's heart and took her basket to left without greeting. Theia pressed the purchased herbs in her hands and absentmindedly returned to the former scout base. She closed the door behind her and leaned against it with a sigh.
"Captain," Eren froze at Theia's incredibly cold gaze.
"Good evening Eren," the boy immediately looked down because he felt like she looked right through him, straight into his soul. "Is the meeting over? Where can I find Levi?" She asked in a still cold tone. She stood still, waiting for Eren's answer. But even though she didn't specifically ask about anything related to the tragedy that happened outside the walls, he felt a weight of guilt. Some responsibility for the death of people she knew and were close to her.
"He's in his office, but I don't think he wants to be disturbed," Theia turned her back to him.
"I am his wife. I don't care if he wants to be disturbed by me or not," she suddenly stopped in the doorway and exhaled. She overcame the huge pain on her chest and turned her head to look into the boy's unhappy eyes again. "It's not your fault," she whispered.
"If I turned into a titan while the captain was with us so..."
"So what? You would disobey an order and your head would be placed in the royal city."
