your new reality had set in as you were leaning against the wall of the old building, your eyes trailing over the old lights hanging from the ceiling that lit up the graffiti on the walls that were all talking about champions and the tigers.
the door opened, your eyes not leaving the writing on the walls.
"so, you ready to tell us where he is?"
you slowly turned your head to face him, shaking your head as your eyes stared intensely at him.
"if you kill me, you could get arrested," you murmered. jason smiled at you, still squatting in front of you. "so, honestly, what are you gaining from me being here?"
he sighed, standing up as he walked over to the small couch in the room. you watched him walk over there, your legs tucked up to your chest as your hands messed with a string on your jeans, the necklace eddie had given you resting around your neck.
"look, _______, we just want to talk to him, that's all," he explained as your eyes briefly met his before looking back at the light blue string on your jeans.
"that's a lie," you responded. "i know because i can hear you all talking. when you get drunk, you're so loud."
he looked off to the side door where your exit was as you stayed looking at your pants.
"wouldn't you want to protect him at all costs? like i did with chrissy?" he said, seeing that he got your attention. your eyes looked up to his, observing them.
"chrissy wasn't killed by him, why would he do that?"
"because he's a freak," jason said, standing up as he walked over to you, taking a seat against the same wall that you were leaned against. "because he's a cult leader at our school, because so many reasons, _______. you're dating a murderer, don't you feel bad about that?"
your eyes looked off to the couch he was previously sitting on as jason placed his hand on your neck. you tensed up, your mind wandering as you thought about everything. he stood back up, walking over to the door as you looked back over at him.
"if you tell me where he is, you can get this back," he said, holding up the necklace eddie had given you. your hand instinctively reached up to find it no longer there and you knew he was truly messed up after this. bribing you so he could kill the one person you trusted? disgusting.
"when did you?" you asked, cutting yourself off. "right," you answered the question, remembering the feeling of his hand on your neck earlier. "what would you do if i didn't?"
"i don't know," he replied, looking at it as your heart broke. "probably throw it out, break it, or something. just tell us where he is and i'll give it back to you. i'm not an asshole, _______, i'm an honest man who wants what he wants," jason replied before walking out of the room with your most precious possession you owned.
the lock clicked in place.
your head pounded.
-
you knew it was night from the small window in the room and sound of two of the guys talking about something on the television. the place was filled with guys, but you weren't worried about any of them. you needed to get your necklace back, and if you could do that, then you'd just have to make it out of the building alive.
you stood up slowly, walking over to the couch and finding the small paper clip you had hidden there as you began to walk back over to the door when it opened and you shoved the clip into your pocket, feeling it scratch your skin as you ignored the pain.
"lucas?" you asked quietly as he nodded, walking over to you after he closed the door gingerly. you looked at him in confusion. "what the hell are you doing?"
