sitting at the picnic table, your eyes traced over the many random names carved into the wood. you got so entranced with reading the many carvings that when eddie jumped onto the seat practically across from you, you jumped, falling off the back.

"hey, sorry, princess," he said laughing a little. "i didn't mean to scare you."

you stood up, brushing the leaves off your jeans as he admired you from where he was sitting at the table. when you looked back up, you laughed a little.

"what?" you asked, walking over to his side of the table as you looked down at him from where he was sitting.

"oh, nothing," he said softly, standing up as he grabbed your hand and pulled you close, seeing you laugh a little. his eyes looked down into yours as you looked back up at him. "you're just really something, that's all."

"was that supposed to be a compliment, munson?" you questioned, letting go of his hands as you went back over to his seat. you sat down, looking back at the carvings as he came back over to you, resting his chin on top of your head.

"you're smothering me. that's so unlike you. aren't you supposed to be mean and scary?" you joked, hearing him chuckle as your hand found one of his. you held onto it as your eyes stared at the carvings. your free hand traced one of the carvings on the table as he looked over at what you were doing.

"what are you doing?"

"studying the carvings," you muttered. "to see who else comes to our spot."

eddie chuckled, taking a seat next to you as you looked over at him. you studied what was going through his mind, smiling to yourself as you rest your chin in the palm of your hand, adoring him from where you were sitting.

"now it's your turn to smother me," he muttered, laughing a little. "what am i thinking, princess? try me."

"hmm," you began, looking up towards the trees as you stood up. "you're thinking about your campaign," you started as he nodded. "and you're thinking about your guitar, obviously," you proceeded as you walked around the small open area with the picnic table. "and you're thinking about giving me that denim jacket because you love me so much," you said, eyeing him with a sly smile before he laughed.

"oh, you'd like that, wouldn't you?" he asked with a smile.

"i'm just saying what you're thinking, munson," you replied. "if you didn't want me to take it, why'd you think about it, hm?"

he laughed, getting up and walking slowly towards you. you laughed some, beginning to run from him as he grabbed you up in his hold and kept you close. you laughed loudly, your back pressed against his chest as you smiled widely.

when he set you back down, your hands rest on his that were around your waist. you could feel his head nuzzled into the crook of your neck as you closed your eyes.

a crunch of the leaves snapped you out of it as you turned your head abruptly to see chrissy walking into the space you and eddie had claimed.

"oh, sorry, i was just," she began as you shook your head.

"it's okay," you said softly as you and eddie let go of each other. you began to walk away, but eddie pulled you back to him.

"what are you doing out here?" he asked her, his hand still holding yours.

"i'm just getting some space," she muttered as you nodded, studying her before looking up at eddie with pleading eyes. he nodded, trying to make her more comfortable before pulling you along with him out of the woods.

when you two got onto the field, you looked back at chrissy to see her sitting at the picnic table before looking back over at eddie.

"are you okay?" you asked him.

he nodded.

"why wouldn't i be, princess?" he said softly as you shrugged, looking back once more.

"it's just a question," you muttered. the two of you began to walk back to school but you stopped him.

"eddie," you said as he stopped, nodding as he waited for you to continue. "what's going on with you?"

he smiled down at you, brushing some loose hair away from your face.

"nothing, i'm okay," he said, pressing a kiss to your cheek as you blushed heavily. you closed your eyes, enjoying his presence. "and you're so in love with me," he said as your eyes looked away from him. "i know, i'm irresistable."

you laughed, looking up at him.

"you are when you kiss me like that," you muttered as you heard him hum a little.

"mhmm, maybe i should do it more often then," he said softly, pressing yet another kiss to your cheek. you blushed even more, closing your eyes as you enjoyed it all.

"okay, okay," you said softly, but you wouldn't mind staying like this forever.

he leaned back to look at you, seeing your eyes still closed before you slowly opened them to look up at him. the warning bell rang for class as you let out a sigh, looking back once more towards where the table was and saw chrissy walking back in your direction.

"okay, come on, cult leader," you joked. "we have class to attend."

"what makes you think i want to attend class?" he asked, looking over at you while the two of you walked to the building.

"considering that you're this close to graduating this time," you began, looking over at him. "i think you should. if you won't do it for yourself, do it for your girlfriend if anything," you asked, glancing over at him.

"alright," he said, bringing you inside and to a closet. "come on, _______. you can't keep doing this at school."

you smiled up at him.

"hey, look, eddie, you're the one making me blush all damn day. it's only fair i return the favor," you said back in response as he sighed, his finger twirling some of your hair around his finger.

"fine," he mumbled. "but you'll get one more kiss before i see you later."

you laughed as he pressed a kiss to your cheek before pressing one to your lips briefly.

"oops," he muttered after he let go as you laughed.
