the video store didn't have much to offer you besides the comfort of the old carpet, old VHS' that nobody watched anymore, and steve and robin of course. they wouldn't let you talk to eddie in case you figured out something and jason found you.

when the office door opened that morning, you scrambled to your feet and shoved steve out of the way as you tried to reach the phone that was sitting on the counter but robin stepped in front of it.

"______, you know we can't let you do that," she said as you sighed, sitting on the counter diagonal from the phone.

"robin, please," you said. "i need to know if he's okay."

steve sighed, crossing his arms as he leaned up against the counter.

"i'm sure he's fine, ______," steve said as you sighed, running your hands through your hair. you looked down towards the ring that you bore on your finger. it was the only thing eddie had ever given you that wasn't his. it was from his family, but it wasn't his. it was his grandmother's.

"how can we be so sure?" you asked. "jason is on a killing spree. he's going to find him."

steve shook his head, tenderly placing a hand on your shoulder but you shrugged it off and got off the counter. you headed back to the back room and shut the door as robin sighed. steve turned to face her.

"did i do something wrong?"

she shook her head.

"no, you're fine. she's just on edge, she'll be okay."

he sighed, looking back towards the door where you sat inside the office.
-

you had kept a close eye on how much they worked, their busiest hours, and how often they didn't, their non-busy hours. you had found a bobby pin to pick the lock whenever you felt ready to go and as soon as you saw the clock sitting on the desk read two o'clock, you picked the lock, getting it open.

you peeked your head out from the door, seeing steve busy with a couple of lady customers as robin was sorting through some VHS tapes in a crate before putting them on the shelf. you snuck around the front of the counter, looking back to see them both busy before finally standing up and rushing out the door, the bell chiming as robin looked up from her work to see you running.

"steve!" she yelled as he looked over at her.

"what? i'm with some customers right now," he mumbled, glancing back at them with a brief smile.

"she ran!" she said urgently as he suddenly understood.

"oh, shit, um, everybody the store is closed now! lunch time for the employees! we'll see you all later!" steve yelled as the customers evacuated the store with angry mumbles of not understanding what was going on.

robin got on the walkie with dustin as she began to hurriedly explain the situation.
-

you stumbled a little but managed to reach the door to the shed, opening it as you shut it quickly behind you. your eyes scanned the room, seeing the tarp on the boat as you uncovered it but nobody was there.

"no, no, no," you mumbled to yourself, your heartbeat quickening. you were worried that your worst fear had come true. you walked over to the table where his old bottles were and got sick to your stomach. where was he?

when the door opened, you jumped and grabbed a bottle to throw but saw it was him as you dropped it immediately and ran to him.

"woah, hey, princess, you aren't supposed to be here," he said, holding back onto you. you nodded, enjoying the feeling of his arms once more.
