loud drums and a mess of guitars was what you heard as you walked up to gareth's house, looking for eddie and not seeing him anywhere. you bit the inside of your cheek, contemplating turning around but they had already seen you, jeff smiling as gareth stood up to greet you.

"______," he said as you nodded shyly, standing before the three bandmates as gareth smiled at you. you were seeing through the way he felt towards you- the girlfriend of the leader of the club he was apart of. "everything okay?"

"do you know where eddie is?" you asked.

"wouldn't you know? he is your boyfriend after all," jeff reminded you as you shifted uncomfortably in your shoes. your hands gripped the backpack strip tighter.

"i just need to know if he's here," you asked.

gareth walked closer, observing you as you stayed standing still in your position.

"gareth, where is he?" you asked as he sided with jeff on the question.

"isn't he your boyfriend? wouldn't you know?"

"i don't have a tracker on eddie," you muttered, taking a couple of steps back as you tripped over the slightly tucked under carpet. when you looked at him once more, you could see it all. "is this why? because you like me?"

"i never said that," he laughed, still looking at you as jeff exchanged a confused look with the other hellfire member of the group who stood off to the side in confusion.

"you didn't have to, i can see it in the way you're looking at me right now," you told him. "it's so obvious when all you want to do is hang around me at school and talk to me about certain things that are so private."

gareth laughed, hearing the door from the inside opening as eddie stepped out into the garage with another guitar pick.

"gareth, who are you bothering again?" eddie asked, still looking down at his guitar as he took a step back from you, still keeping eye contact with you. you stared over at eddie, trying to get him to look up as his eyes soon met yours.

"holy shit, princess," he said, laughing a little as he came over and pulled you into a hug. you embraced his hold on you, enjoying the feeling of being wrapped up safe again. you let out a sigh. "was gareth bothering you again?"

you nodded, laughing a little to make ti seem like more of a joke, but eddie knew too.

you both didn't want to admit it.

"okay, i'm gonna see you guys tomorrow," eddie said, wrapping an arm around your shoulder as he walked out of the garage and towards his van to put away his guitar. you looked back over at gareth once more, seeing him smile at you before taking a seat behind his drums once more.

"so, what happened?" he questioned.

you climbed into the van, taking the pick from him as he tried to gently put his guitar in enough so that even with his maniac driving, the guitar of his dreams wouldn't be damaged.

"he's doing it again, eds," you mumbled. "the whole lying thing about not knowing where you are or trying to get super close to me."

eddie muttered a swear word under his breath, trying to not take it into too much account as you climbed into the front seat. you stared out the window towards gareth's garage, hearing eddie climb in the van next to you.

"______," he said as you turned to look at him.

"yes?"

"i can talk to him if you want me to," he said as you shook your head.

"no, don't worry about it. he'll get over me eventually, it's fine."

he eyed you curiously, wondering if you really meant it before starting the van and driving you home.
-

"so, gareth, do you like her?" jeff asked as the two of them were cleaning up the garage. he looked over at him, letting out a sigh as he was throwing some trash away in the can sitting directly outside of the garage door.

"what if i do?"

"because she's dating eddie," jeff countered, shutting the trash can lid as he looked back over at gareth. "i mean, there's so many other girls you could go out with and you're stuck pining over the one that's taken?"

"isn't that always how it is?" he said as jeff furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.

"what?"

"the person you want most is taken, but you don't realize how badly you want them until they're no longer available for you to have," gareth muttered as jeff sighed.

"gareth, let it go."
-

eddie stopped in front of your house, putting the van in park as he looked over at you. your eyes were focused on the ring you wore from eddie. you were anxiously twisting it around as eddie let out a sigh.

"_______, i can talk to him," he said as you shook your head.

"eddie, don't worry about it, okay?" you told him, reaching behind you to grab your bag as eddie looked out the window and into your neighborhood.

"but, you seem so frustrated," he said.

"i'm fine," you said.

"_______," he began but you shook your head and looked over at him.

"i said i'm fine, eddie," you said, mildly harsh as you let out a heavy sigh, opening the door as you stepped out. when your shoes hit the ground, you looked up at him from the angle you were standing at. "i'm sorry," you said softly as eddie smiled at you.

"i'm just worried about you, _______. i just want to help in whatever way that i can."

"i know, but i think we just need to let this take its course, okay? please don't talk to gareth about it, just leave it be, okay?" you asked him, hoping that he would understand.

he nodded.

"whatever you say, my dear," he said back before letting out a sigh. "but you better tell me if you need anything from me, okay?"

you nodded, giving him a slight smile as eddie stopped you from shutting the door. you furrowed your eyebrows in confusion as he stepped out of his side of the car and walked over to you. he pulled you close, pressing his lips to yours as you smiled into it before he let go.

"promise?" he said as you nodded, looking up at him.

"i promise, eddie."

he smiled back at you, pressing a kiss to your forehead before getting back in the van as you smiled to yourself while heading up to your front door. you unlocked it, turning around after opening the door to see eddie smile at you before driving off like a madman. you stepped inside and shut the door, leaning against it as you let out a sigh.

a sigh of happiness.
