october.
you looked down at the bracelet you had in your hand, shaking your head as you tossed it into the small creek in front of you. your eyes were filling with tears, but why were you crying over him? he was just a guy, he meant nothing to you. not anymore.
you turned back around from the creek, wiping your eyes and heading back to your home that was only a slight walk through the woods. you spent a lot of time down here with him, and it was a place you rarely visited now since it happened.
you were so absorbed in your own thoughts that you didn't hear the noises behind you but soon felt two arms grab you and pulling you towards the person. you screamed slightly before feeling the familiar rings pressing into your side. you sighed, placing your hand on his.
"why are you stalking me in my own woods, munson?" you muttered, leaning back against him as he smiled, holding you closely as he pressed brief kisses to the side of your head between different words in his response.
"your mom told me where you had gone, but not what you were doing," he mumbled against your head as you looked down towards your boyfriend's shoes that were touching yours.
"i had to get rid of it, eddie. i can't keep sitting with it just in my bedroom every single day," you muttered, looking back up towards where his hands were. you felt your stomach twisting into a tight knot.
"the bracelet?"
you nodded, feeling eddie's breath on the nape of your neck as you shivered slightly but felt comfortable in his grasp. he wanted to hold you for as long as he possibly could, you could feel it in the way that his arms were tense.
"it's gone now," you muttered as eddie sighed once more, his forefinger gently scratching your t shirt material as you turned your head to look up at him. "eddie, can you stay?"
he looekd down at you, giving you a sweet smile before nodding.
-
"________, you expect me to just believe that?"
you nodded, twirling the bracelet he had given you on your wrist.
"why would i believe that when you've been caught cheating on me!"
"what the hell are you talking about, an-" you began to ask but he shook his head, grabbing your shirt as he pulled you closer to him to speak up to you.
"why are you even trying, _______," he began, staring back at you before he attemtped to do it again.
"stop it!" you yelled as you sat up quickly in your bed, causing eddie to jolt awake as you ran your hands through your hair before beginning to cry. you felt sick to your stomach, wanting to throw up. these were memories you had tried to shove down as far as you could. eddie sat up, turning the lamp on as you continued to cry.
"princess, hey," he said, trying to calm you down as he gently placed his hand on your arm, feeling you flinch but nonetheless, you took your face out of your hands to crawl into his grasp, laying against him as you tried to calm yourself down. eddie held onto you, running his hand through your hair. you let out a shaky sigh, leaning back to look up at him as his eyes observed yours.
"you're so scared, princess, i'm right here," he muttered softly as you nodded, laying back down against his chest as he held onto you tightly. "was it the same nightmare?" he asked as you nodded.
"he gave me that bracelet as a way to keep me bonded to him forever," you mumbled as you felt yourself about to cry again but eddie shushed you gently, pressing a few kisses to the side of your head while he held you closely.
"you got rid of it today, you showed strength," he said softly while you nodded.
"i feel sick," you said.
eddie gently placed his hand on your stomach as you sighed heavily. he kept his chin rested against the side of your head, feeling you breathing somewhat heavily as his hand stayed where it was.
"princess," he muttered as you closed your eyes. "you're safe, okay?"
you nodded, trying to calm yourself down as eddie took his hand off your stomach to fully embrace you back in his arms. you smiled at him hesitantly as his eyes tried to reassure you that everything was going to be okay.
"i'm never going to leave you, just trust me," he mumbled, turning off the lamp as you pushed yourself further into his arms. he smiled to himself, allowing you to have him all night if it made you feel any better.
"get some sleep, my juliet," he mumbled into your hair.
you didn't close your eyes, leaning against him still as your hand searched for his before finding it as you slowly intertwined your fingers with his. this is when you finally felt okay to close your eyes and go to sleep.
all you ever needed was him.
