In the cold breeze, surrounded by fairy lights, festive decorations, and under the night sky, there was only one thought on Yunho's mind.
Mingi is so beautiful.
His eyes were dazzling, filled with curious wonder and awe as he gazed at the park and the scenery, and it was almost painful, how beautiful he was. Dressed for the cold, rugged up in coats with a scarf tied around his neck... His two little studs glinted in the lights—white and gold lights reflecting from them—thin gold chain around his throat peeking out when he looked around, his rings and silver bracelet he'd gifted him beside his mom's beads catching the lights...
His hands were blushed pink and looked cold. He would buy him gloves tomorrow.
Mingi's arm was tucked through his, his other dangling down with Mittens' leash wrapped around his wrist as she pounced around on the frosty ground, investigating every single leaf they crossed, and he decided to guide Mingi's arm that was threaded through his to hold his hand instead, tucking their entwined hold into his pocket in the warmth.
In surprise, Mingi glanced at him, offering him a smile of thanks...
And his heart nearly lurched out of his chest, because—
There it was. Something he'd mourned from the moment they'd shared in this park a year ago, sure he'd never see it again outside of his own memory...
Golden fairy lights were reflecting in even the deepest depths of his dark swirling irises like fireworks that hinted at the incredible sentience that was held behind those two endless galaxies of wonder peering out at the world with such awe and love. They were beautiful... Mingi, was beautiful... So pretty... Those eyes... He'd dreamt of the night so long ago when he'd gazed into them and realised just how much he needed to keep their view in sight every single day he woke up, and today, a year later, he still needed it... Needed it more fiercely than he'd perhaps ever been able to predict he would.
Nostalgia and sentimentality melted through him as he gazed into the depths of his dazzling irises, wondering how something so beautiful and saturated with colour could exist in this world. Reaching up, he brushed his fingers down his temple, wanting to somehow hold them, but only able to cradle him near... It was perhaps the biggest metaphor for his love for Mingi... Wanting to touch and hold and somehow consume him, but never able to reach the very essence within him that made Mingi, Mingi.
He imagined Mingi's soul to be like a little pearl in the centre of his heart, or perhaps even behind those dazzling eyes that held everything that he was. It was as beautiful, if not more beautiful than what he could see with his eyes, because it was Mingi, and fuck—
I want to marry you so fucking badly...
His throat was dry and his hands nearly trembling, but as much as he wanted to blurt out those two little words, he was speechless... Rendered silent, unable to speak, bewitched by his beauty and how much he loved him...
The softness and sweetness of this sparkling, twinkling gaze, the soft pink blush to his cheeks, the tender squeeze of his hand in his, and the rosy pucker of his lips...
