Chocolate.

Mingi was craving chocolate.

And so that was the only thing inside Yunho's brain.

Getting Mingi chocolate.

And maybe fruit. Mingi liked fruit. Especially with chocolate.

Crouching down at the store, he picked up a block of chocolate he'd seen Mingi reach for before, and double checked to make sure it was the one he wanted.

He nodded to himself, standing up and walking towards the front of the store where the fruit was displayed.

It was kind of overcast, and Mingi liked huddling away when the clouds kept out the sun. He would be so cozy, in their makeshift sofa of blankets on the floor gazing out the window with a book, strawberries and chocolate...

He already couldn't wait to return to him... Feed him piece by piece and bathe in the sight...

I wonder what kind of fruit he might—

'Yunho Sshi?'

Stopping dead in his tracks, he wasn't sure what about the voice had unnerved him. He didn't even recognise it...

But it was that of an old man... An old, broken man...

And very quickly, before he'd even turned around, he knew who it was.

Mingi's father.

Turning around, he tried not to let his discomfort show as he glanced over the black ragged clothes and dark green hole-riddled hikers overcoat. His face was old, but he thought it looked slightly younger than the first time he'd seen him... It took a moment to realise it might have been because this time, he was shaven... Not cleanly, but the stubble on his face was far less than the first time he'd seen him, and like this, he thought he caught maybe just a hint of the charismatic man he likely once was in Mingi's memory, before.

'Sir,' he said, tasting something sour on his tongue as he bowed his head to the man he knew had broken Mingi's wrist and mentally abused him at the very least. Just because he might have shown a hint of the man he once was, didn't mean he was about to change his mind about him... Didn't change the fact that he'd still abused his son.

Abused Mingi...

'Is— Is Mingi with you?'

He closed his eyes, exhaling a sigh of relief. 'No...' He could still see him as clear as daylight in their shower, sobbing in the dark...

The man looked woefully disappointed, however although he'd kind of expected him to just ask for him to tell Mingi that he'd been waiting for him, or to give him some other message to pass on, to his surprise, the man suddenly turned around and began rummaging through a white plastic bag on the counter along the front of the store where one empty cup of ramen sat.
