- The Tale of Aelira and Maelis, the Sunlit and Shadowed Sisters -

In the Age where the realms were ruled by the Ethereal Might and Secrets whispered through the wind, two sisters shared a bond as deep as the roots of the sacred Remnant. The younger sister, Aelira, was the trueborn daugher of royal blood, destined to wield magic of blinding light. Her parents, revered among all, had blessed her with the gifts of the Elden Arts, her prescence alone was beacon in a world of twilight.

The older sister, Maelis, came from a world far below, born into shadows and summoned into the royal halls by the warmth of an adopted family. Despite the taint of foreign blood that nobility sneered upon, her loyalty and devotion knew no bounds. Though her own magic was less known, darker and tethered to the depths, she fiercely guarded her little sister, Aelira, who returned the love in kind. Together, they were two halves of a forgotten whole-sunlight and shadow bound in sisterhood.

Yet the courts were unkind to Maelis. Whispers haunted her every step, marking her as 'Unworthy' and 'Impure'. Scorn and derison wore her spirit, and in the secret corners of her heart, bitterness began to grow. Even her sister's love could not shield her from the shame that wrapped around her like a curse.

Then, one fateful night, anger finally overcame her when a noble dared to insult her loyalty before Aelira. In a fit of rage, Maelish unleashed a shadowed spell so fierce that it scarred the stone walls and left the royal court horrified. This outburts could not go unpunished and by decree, Maelis was banished to the edges of the realm, far from her sister's embrace. She disappeared, leaving Aelira to grieve and the Kingdom to breathe a sigh of relief.

Years passed, and as Aelira grew, so did her power. Determined to honor her sister, she ventured across the land, her might praised by those she saved and feared by those she conquered. But as she ventured further, the light she carried began to shine in places long fogotten. Places Maelis had come to call her own.

When at last the sisters met, joy and sorrow collieded into bitternes and pride. Time had twisted the love between them; the bond once shared had turned brittle and cold. Three times they clashed, and three times the battles scarred the land, turning forest to ashes and rivers to rivers of shadow. In the final battle, Aelira's strength prevailed. Maelis, broken and betrayed, was driven from the land of light and into the shadows once more.

The Kingdom rejoiced, celebrating Aelira as the savior of their lands. Yet, in her victory, the younger sister felt hollow. The love she had sought to reclaim lay in ruin, banished and forsaken. Maleis, in her exile, swore vengeance. Not on her sister, but on the fate that had stolen their love.

In the depths of the earth, Maelis found a new ally, a forgotten god... The Dark One of TIme. Together, they devised a plan to undo the years of loneliness and disgrace. One shadowed the night, Maelis cast a spell with the Deity's help that tore Aelira from existence, erasing her from all memory leaving the Kingdom in mourning and confusion.

With Aelira gone, darkness, swept across the land, and all who had once celebrated her now fell to despair. Maelis watched from afar as tragedy took root in the world above. FOr though she had defeated her sister and reclaimed a bitter justice, the shadow of her sister's absence haunted her every step, a void that even the Dark One could not fill.

And so, in the years to come, legends warned of the Great Tragedies, the echo of a sister's vengeance, and the hope that one day, the two might meet again. Not in war. But in peace that had been lost in time.
