The Alpha house looks dark and quiet, but nothing much has changed. It's as if they have been too scared to touch anything, so as not to ruin the memory left here from five years ago.
It wasn't easy to bring Jimin back to the house. Jungkook and Namjoon had to carry him after Hoseok knocked him out with a concoction. Y/n assumes Lucas stayed with Jimin after everyone left. The tower mage has become quite popular for his strange potions.
Nothing was said on the way to the house, and even now, silence seems to control the space between them. No one dares to ask the questions hanging in the air and rather than breaking the silence, Y/n lets them suffer a bit.
She can hear Jungkook and Namjoon chaining Jimin to his bed upstairs, while she stands in the middle of the living room on the ground floor. She shifts in her legs, growing uneasy the longer she breathes in the scent of rotten blueberries and utter madness lingering in this house.
It seems the walls have slowly absorbed the scent as Jimin slowly lost his mind here. She can't help but think that Jimin would hate being contained like this. He once told her that he always worried that he would become like his father, alone and lost in his anger and agony.
Now, standing in this place, she can't help but think about how things have turned out.
From the corner of her eye, she can see Hoseok's reluctant steps coming towards her. She couldn't bring herself to greet him. Whatever happened has put a strain on their relationship.
He had known everything all this time and he had still chosen to keep it a secret from her. At first, she was too angry. But it's been so long now that she doesn't have any energy left to remain angry. However, the damage was already done, and it doesn't seem fixable.
"Hey.." Hoseok stops beside her. Y/n turns to look at him and immediately notices how worn out he looks. He attempts a smile, and it doesn't reach his eyes. "How have you been?"
Y/n takes a moment to drink him in. She hasn't seen her brother in so long. She still remembers the day he came back from his academy. The bond between them wasn't so distant back then.
She nods instead of answering. Surely he can see that nothing is alright with her.
"You..?" She mumbles as her eyes continue to run over him. He seems to be doing the same thing.
"I've been better." The smile he flashes her this time doesn't feel as strained.
That gets one out of her. It's barely there but Hoseok still takes it as a win. He had thought she didn't even want to see him, so he considered himself lucky that she was talking to him.
Y/n mourns the connection they've lost, because right now, she would be hugging him and asking him a ton of questions. She has to force herself to focus on the matter at hand. She feels reluctant to ask her next question, only because a part of her won't be able to take knowing what has been happening with Jimin.
