"My name is Valerie." She told him, and dropped her gaze to her lap.

The Prince reached out his hand to her face and lifted her chin to meet his gaze. "Tis a beautiful name." His voice was was deep and masculine, and Valerie heart hammered against her chest.

"Thank you your Highness." She told him shyly.

"It's William to you, Valerie."

Valerie didn't know what to say, she had the Prince of Scotland sitting in front of her, and she knew not what to do. He was handsome and kind, he listened to everything she had to say as if he wanted to know what was in her heart and mind. She spoke against the crown, yet he didn't seem to get offended, and he wants her to address him by his birth name! That was treason, she could hang for that!

"I have to go now, it's getting really late and someone might notice that I am missing." She told him as she lifted herself to her feet.

The King's heart sank, but he didn't want to beg her to stay longer at the risk of her Master taking the whip on her. "Be careful going home, Tis dark out there!" He told her, disappointed that she avoided looking at him as she wrapped the cloak around her shoulders.

Valerie threw a few more logs in the fire before she walked to the door and said, "Goodnight William."

William watched her remove the wooden bar from the door. A gust of wind blasted through the door as soon as she opened it and Valerie quickly stepped out and quickly shut the door to keep the warmth in the cabin.

As soon as the young maiden closed the door to the cabin, the Prince jumped to his feet and ran after her to make sure that she made it safely back to her home. It was a moonless night, but Valerie carried the rune to guide her home. The cold wind blasted angrily around them, but William did not feel it, he was a Druid and the wind did not affect him. It was her he worried for, he prayed she would not catch her death cold.

When Sterlingshire came into view, the Prince hid behind a tree and watched as Valerie ran to the side of the castle, and open the back door. Slipping through it quickly, she left no evidence behind that she had ever left the castle. Expelling a sigh of relief that she was safely within the compounds of the castle, the Prince headed back to the cabin, knowing that this would be a sleepless night for him.

Laying on the bed, in the dark, Williams mind traveled to the moment Valerie realized who he was. She was different than any other woman he had ever known, and they were plenty. All the women that were at court, wanted to marry him, but for all the wrong reasons. They wanted the title, the money, and the crown jewels that would be theirs should they be lucky enough to marry him. They didn't care for him personally, they were beautiful, cold hearted women who would do anything just to wear the crown.

Reaching under his kilt, the Druid grabbed his throbbing shaft in his hand and stroked it. He closed his eyes and thought of Valerie and wondered what was underneath her worn out gown, were her breasts round and firm, was her velvety skin soft, and would she tremble in his arms if he touched her in her most private parts, would she call out his name in her weak moments of lovemaking right before waves of pleasures claimed her?

"Tha mi sa' gaol leat!" He said hoarsely in Gaelic, as he released his seed and his body shook violently.

It came as a complete surprise to the Prince when he mouthed the words that he thought would never come out of his mouth. He had fallen in love with her, but he knew that he can never have her, she was just a commoner!

Sarah hadn't seen Camran for a full week. Cook brought her all her meals three times a day and she ate alone and in misery. Her arse was not bruised anymore, but Sarah remembered the pain very well and cursed the day she set eyes on the Druid.
