Everyone was bustling about at Fay industries trying to finish their work so they could leave early. It was New Year's Eve and everyone wanted to go home and get ready for the famous ball dropping in Time square.

Leathan paced back and forth in his office, he was a miserable mess today, knowing what was about to happen on the stroke of twelve. He wanted to take all his precious employees and hide them in Fay land so they could be safe, but he knew that that would be next to impossible.

"Mr. McNeil, is there anything else you will be needing before I leave?" Tinesha asked.

Leathan's heart skipped a beat, as always when he looked upon her he was lost for words. "Please have a seat, there are a few documents we need to go over." He lied, there was nothing that could not wait until Monday, he just wanted to sit near her and try to get into her thoughts. Tonight was a dangerous night to be out and about, and he wanted to warn her not to leave her house. She must stay away from Time Square, he thought, because all hell will break loose and she will be right smack in the middle of it.

"Mr. McNeal I have gone through all the document's with a fine tooth comb amd nothing is amiss. I assure you that I have done my best to see that all is in accordance with the law." She responded and sat herself in the leather chair opposite Leathan's.

"Where are you going tonight?" He asked, getting straight to the point and trying his darnest to hide the desperation in his voice.

"I beg your pardon? Once my job is done and I walk out of Fays industries, it is not your business where I go!" She told him, "you are not my father Mr. McNeal, you are my employer and as such, I would appreciate it if you stay out of my business!"

Leathan's balls were swollen, he wanted her badly, "Please don't go near Time Square tonight." He pleaded, ignoring her request to keep out of his business.

"Mr. McNeal," she snapped, and jumped to her feet, "is there anything else you want before I leave?"

"Yes, I don't what you to go near Time Square tonight!"

Before now, Tinesha had no intentions of going to Time Square, but now she was going to go, if only to prove to him and herself that he had no control over her outside of work. "I have every intention of going, good day Mr. McNeal, see you next year!"

Cold fear took hold of Leathan as he watched Tinesha lift herself to her feet, grab her briefcase and winter jacket, and walk out of his office. If she went tonight to Time Square she was as good as dead! Jumping to his feet, he raced after her, but when he found himself out in the waiting room, she was already gone.

He turned around and faced his secretary, "Do not go near Time Square tonight!"

"Mr. McNeal?"

"Please do as I say and stay in tonight, it is for your own saftey that I ask this of you!" He told her hoarsely, before he jumped in the elevator and pressed the lobby button.

"Hello?"

"Where are you, you're late!" Pauletta yelled in the phone.

"I'll be there shortly, I stopped to get cigarettes!"

"Cigarettes?"

"Yup, that's what I said!" Roula told her friend.

"Since when do you smoke?" Pauletta asked, curious to hear her response.

"Since I started believing all that shit you have told me about James!"

"You believe me?"

"Do I have a choice? You now have me believing that I too have a lover out there who will magically appear tonight at midnight and sweep me off my feet." Roula laughed, "I'm even wearing the medieval looking ring, hoping a jeanie will pop out of it and grant me my wish!"

Pauletta rolled her eyes, "Hurry and come, we have to wash and fix our hair so we can look glamorous in case we do see our soulmate's tonight." She told Roula without a hint of laughter.

"Letta?"

"What?"

"You really do believe that he will come don't you?"

Pauletta took a deep breath of inhalation, "Yes I do." she answered truthfully.
