2016 the Beginning of the End

"Three, two, one....Happy New Year everyone!" Dick Clark spoke into his microphone, and fireworks blasted through the air, a marvelous display of colors and shapes, that had everyone's attention looking upward towards the night sky. 

When the first bomb exploded, most of the people thought that it was part of the night show and did not realize that it was a bomb that killed hundreds of people, until blood flew everywhere and people dropped like flies to the ground.

The second bomb was worse than the first, one third of the population who attended the party died immediately. The Druids appeared among the massive crowds that were terrorized and running for their lives, and tried to find the evil ones but it was impossible to do so, because they were disguised as humans. They had taken over the bodies of innocent victims and hid themselves quite well. 

Thomas pulled Sophia fiercely in his arms and ran with her to the middle of the square. "When I tell you too, start singing loud and clear, but don't leave my sight, stay close to me if you want to live!" He said hoarsely. 

"I'm scared Thomas!" Sophia cried desperately.

Thomas stopped walking and turned to face her, "I will not let anything happen to you my heart, this I swear!"

Explosions were exploding everywhere and at that moment Michael who had his eye on the dropped ball the entire time witnessed it being lifted. "Thomas, over here now!" He called out, and ran to the ball faster than the speed of light to attack the evil ones who were trying to break the ground underneath the ball to get to the crystal. 

"This is it!" Thomas said, as he pulled Sophia with him. 

The Druids and the Fays could not separate the evil ones from the humans, so they could not fight back, but the Macalisters noticed Michael waving them down and they all circled around the silver ball. 

What looked like to be a human was really an evil one and he cleverly stepped at the last minute under the Druids noses and dived right into the ground below the silver ball. In less than a split second of a second, he had pulled the crystal out of the ground and started to run. 

"Sing Sophia!" Thomas yelled out loud and Sophia wasted no time raising her voice to the highest level that her lungs allowed, reaching a frequency that was ear splitting, as she sang the lullaby with strength and emotion, and the crystal in the arms of the evil one burst and shattered into a million pieces, and fell from his hands scattering across the ground before him.

Stephan knew that this would anger the evil ones to no avail, "it has begun!" He cried out loud in a scratchy, throaty voice, as he looked around him and saw the evil ones discard their human bodies and take their shape as monsters. The evil one placed earth on hold, and the entire human race was under hypnosis. Their minds were temporarily suspended, and they stood frozen on their feet like zombies. 

Giant, angry, ugly monsters, with scaly tails and red beaded eyes filled the square. They were armed with poisoned swords that were powerful enough to kill Druids and Fays. Fire breathed out of their nostrils and they had the strength of demons. 

Hawk and Kalan stood in horror as they watched one by one the demons take their shape. Sidri and Leathan, were on the opposite side of the square with Charles and were stunned at what was revealed. 

The main demon that was in the center of the square, was staring at the broken pieces of crystal. He lifted his tail in the air and brought it down angrily, hitting the ground with such force that the cement cracked and the earth started to tremble. The monster opened his mouth and a thunderous roar echoed thoughout the square sending cold chills in every single living being that was present.
