It was past midnight when Evan returned to the castle, walking in the Great Hall, the Fay stopped for a second and admired the Christmas tree, thoughts of what transpired here before he was called to help with the stallion claimed him and his heart swelled with love. He didn't like the fact that he was interrupted and taken away from his wife, but they needed his help, and he had saved the poor stallion from his misery.

An image of his beautiful wife flashed before him and his eyes hazed with love. Taking the stairs three at a time he quickly stopped before his chambers and thought for a moment what he was going to tell his wife. He wanted to cherish her and love her as a man loves a woman, but will she love him back, he wondered.

She looked happy the last few days, and when he made love to her she seemed full of passion. Was he daft and read something that was not there? Of course not, his heart told him, her eyes sparkled with want when he bedded her, her actions spoke of a thousand words. My wife loves me, he told himself before he opened the wooden door to his chambers.

The room was dark and Evan felt a chill in the air. Walking to the hearth, he grabbed the fire poker and stoked the logs, little sparks of fire flew around until the Fay blew against the wood and an orange, red flame blazed instantly. Evan threw a few more logs into the fire and cursed under his breath that the servants didn't keep the chambers warm for his wife, she must be freezing, he thought as he turned around.

The blacksmith stood in shock, his eyes trying to focus in the semi dark, was that his wife laying on the floor? He walked over to the table and lit a few candles and cursed under his breath when he heard her sobs.

"Alana," his voice was hoarse and full of concern, the first thought that entered his mind was that something was wrong with the babe, quickly he walked to his wife's side and dropped to his knees.

He tried to collect his wife in his arms but she rebuked his advances, Go away!" She cried, and pushed him away.

Alarmed, the Fay pulled back and asked, "What happened!" He demanded.

The Druidess stopped crying and anger took its course, how dare he asked her what happened when he lied to her from the beginning, she thought angrily, pulling herself up to a standing position, she threw an accusingly stare at her husband, "I'm leaving you, that's what happened!" She screamed and stomped away from him.

Narrowing his eyes, the Fay was confused, what happened in the matter of a few hours that she would cry and claim that she is leaving, he thought, he had heard through the grape vine that when a woman is with child, her hormones jump around and their personality changes, could this be what is happening to his wife at this very moment, he thought, should he call for the Healer?

"My heart please," he begged and took a step closer to her, "let's sit down and talk, you shouldn't be upset in your condition."

When Evan tried to reach for her, she screamed and took many steps backwards, "Stay away from me!"
She yelled in a firm and unwavering tone of voice, which had the Fay frozen in his tracks.

"Talk to me, tell me what is in your heart Alana, let me help you get over what ever is bothering you."

Alana threw her head back and laughed out loud, Evan watched her in horror suspecting that she had gone mad.

"Stud!" The black smith ordered aggressively, and grabbed both her hand in his, but his wife continued to laugh historically. The veins in his neck bulged as anger set in the pit of his stomach, was she mocking him? "I said Stud!"

Hearing his loud command, Alana sobered up and pulled her hands out of his grip. "Don't touch me! Don't ever touch me again!" She cried, and turned to run out of the room, but the Fay caught her by the waist and slammed her against his chest.
