It took only moments for the Macalisters to surround Sterlingshire and trap the McNeil clan in the middle of the square. Tension was high, weapons were positioned and pointed at the enemies.

"McNeil!" Michael's thunderous voice would have stricken fear into the hearts of the enemies, but not the McNeil's, they feared nothing and no one, least of all the Macalisters!

"Macalister!" The Laird of Dukesworth roared back.

"What do you want on my land! Leave or I will be forced to give the order to slaughter each and everyone of you!" Michael threatened.

The Laird of Dukesworth threw his head back and roared with laughter. He was fearless, and was worthy of his nickname the Demon. He sat on his horse with the arrogance of a king. His broad, powerful shoulders were pulled back, and his stone, cold silver grey eyes that zeroed in on Michael were enough to frightened the daylights out of any other clan, but the Macalisters, who were their equal on the battle ground were not intimidated by him.

"Do as you will, but be warned, we are here to avenge my children, and we will kill each and everyone of you and then burn Sterlingshire to the ground!"

Tensions were high, no one spoke or moved, stillness consumed the huge courtyard. The McCains and the McClouds were on both sides of the Macalisters, all three clans circled around the McNeil's and prepared for battle.

It was a split second of a second before all the Warriors raised their arms with weapons in hand that Asia ran to the middle of the square and screamed at the top of her lungs, "No! Put your weapons down, tis not the right way to settle this!"

All eyes fell on Asia's petite form, as she stood all alone and fearless in the center of the square and faced the Laird of Dukesworth. The soft breeze caressed her skin and blew her hair away from her angelic face. Her beauty took Mcneil's breath away, and for a moment he was left speechless.

"Please sir, do not harm my family, I implore you." She begged.

McNeil raised an eyebrow and his piercing, silver grey eyes took in all of her five foot two inch height. The Laird marveled at the way she stood fearless before him as if she did not run the risk of him slashing her throat. He admired her courage and decided to allow her to live long enough to at least plead her case.

"Oh? And why should I not kill ever last one of you?" He asked just for sport.

"Because sir, we have done nothing wrong, we are innocent of the crimes against us!" She reasoned innocently, unaware of the danger she had placed herself in.

Silas's heart thudded wildly against his muscles chest. His daughter was in imminent danger and she was oblivious to that fact. He tried to run to Asia to save her life but Michael slammed his powerful arm against Silas's chest and stopped him.

"Stay away or you will trigger the alarm and place Asia in grave danger!" He whispered hoarsely, stopping Silas from making a deadly mistake.

Silas's feet froze to the ground, his heart was about to jump out of his muscled chest, he would never forgive himself were anything to happen to his only child.

"Your family is innocent of killing my children, is that what you are telling me?" The Laird asked gently, and anyone who knew him well, knew that it was the calm before the storm.

Asia nodded her head, "Aye, I know this for a fact, my uncle loved Kainaaz and because of that my family would never hurt her! It was the witch, she killed Kainaaz out of jealousy because she was in love with uncle Balloch, she also killed Pracheeta, but now you have her back! And soon Kainaaz will be back and she will tell you herself that my family had nothing to do with her murder!"
