It was a gentle landing, and the wheels ran over the runway smoothly before they settled.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have landed in Edinburgh on this glorious, sun shiny day, temperature is a comfortable eighty two degrees and the time is ten a.m. My crew and I wish you a pleasant stay in this beautiful country, please watch your step as you exit the aircraft and allow the children, senior citizens and those with special needs to go first. Have a nice and pleasant day and thanks for flying the friendly skies with United airlines." The captain of the 747 announced on the intercom.

"Follow me please, I will get you off the plane first, pass you through customs, and take you to baggage claim." The smiling flight attendant said, as she tried to help April take off her seat belt.

"I don't need your help, I can do this myself thank you." April snapped and pushed the ladies hand away, tired, hungry, and upset with her life, April was in no mood to be smothered by anyone, let alone a stranger.

"She's only trying to help you dear." Marilyn said, throwing an apologetic look at the beautiful flight attendant.

April paid no heed to what her mother was saying, she just wanted to get this nightmare over with. She hated the special attention she was getting from everyone around her, it only reminded her of her handicap situation and angered her even more. She didn't need anyone's pity, she needed to walk again!

"Slow down April!" Her mother said as she hurried to catch up with her down the ramp, "I'm not a spring chicken anymore."

April rolled her eyes, but did not slow down. She hated her life and wished that she could just end it and relieve her mother the burden of taking care of her.

"Where are you Julia?" Edward whispered, as he looked out of the large window of his penthouse, "Where are you my heart?"

Edward planted his huge, calloused hands on the glass and swallowed a lump in his throat, he had waited much too long for his soulmate to return and wondered how he would survive another day without her.

He had to practically beat the information out of his nephew, Stephan claimed that to go looking for her would only bring pain in his heart because she will not recognize him when and if he finds her and she will reject him and the pain will be unbearable, but Edward didn't care about the pain, no pain could be far greater than what he was already feeling the entire time she has been gone.

Moving away from the window, Edward walked over to the bar and poured himself a double whiskey.

"Jesus!" He swore under his breath when he felt his heart twist with pain again. "Tis unbearable!"

He swallowed the burning liquid and slammed the glass on the granite counter. Threading his fingers through his thick mane of hair, Edward decided that he would go out for some fresh air. He had many things to think about, and many things to do, staying in his penthouse feeling sorry for himself was not going to help him in any way.

Grabbing his jacket, Edward left to search for his soulmate. His first stop will be at Ina's shop, he decided, she was a friend who had many talents. She was physic and may possibly be able to help him locate Julia, he thought, as he jumped in the elevator and pressed the lobby button.

"I hate this room!" April said angrily.

"This room is one of the best in the hotel, go look outside the window, the view is breathtaking, why are you being so negative?" Her mother said with dismay.

"What do I care about breathtaking views, did you forget I'm paralyzed?"

Marilyn sighed, "Get rid of the attitude April, misery attracts misery and I don't want any part of it!"
