Michaels arm was braced against what was left of the east wall of Sterlington castle. He was overwhelmed with grief and angry at life. He felt helpless, knowing that nothing would be the same ever again.
Stephan came up from behind him and paused for a second before he spoke, not knowing what he could say to his father to get him out of the depression he was in.
"Father, do not lose hope, we will rebuild our home, and make it even bigger than before." Stephan promised, "and we can even rebuild the villages and make our pluming system more modernized. I have seen during my time travels to America so many ideas that we can incorporate on our lands once we start the rebuilding process."
Michaels hooded eyes turned to look at his son, "It will take years if not eons to rebuild Scotland, and that's to say if the demons aren't already on their way to destroy the rest of the world. Have you any idea the depth and magnitude of this catastrophe son?"
"Don't lose hope father, our people need your leadership to start the healing process, without that, Scotland will never be the same!" Stephan reasoned.
Michael realized that the words his son spoke were wise. He squared his shoulders and lifted his head. There was a glint of spark in his eyes, and his jaw twitched before he spoke, "You!" He yelled in a loud and firm tone of voice to a warrior a few feet away, "gather fifty of your strongest men and remove all the rubble to the far west side of the land!"
"Aye Laird!" The Druid warrior responded and hurriedly did as he was told.
"You!" Michael pointed to a giant bearded man who looked mad as hell, "get twenty of your strongest men and clear the field!" Turning around, Michael pointed to another warrior, "find me all the men you can muster to build Sterlingshire, round up all the masons, and tell them I want my castle to be the grandest in all the land!"
Stephan watched his father finally grab control of himself and take action. His job was done here, now he needed to tune in on his bother Balloch and make sure that he was alive and preparing for his return.
*************
Evan knew he was in deep trouble the moment Saundra jumped in his huge bed and tried to seduce him. No matter what she tried on him, she could not awaken the romantic side of him, which left him baffled and questioning his manhood.
"Is something bothering you my love?" Saundra asked him even though she knew that his indifference had to do with the beauty in the guest chamber.
"Just a few things on my mind." He flat out lied, and rolled off the bed. "Get dressed Saundra, I'm taking you home!"
"You can't mean for me to leave at this hour of the night!" The young maiden complained, as she raised herself to a sitting position.
Her sudden movement caused her long curls to bounce off her shoulders and fall on her round and firm breast, he noticed her nipples perk upwards in anticipation, this used to drive Evan mad with desire, but at this moment it had absolutely no affect on him, which confirmed his suspicions, he wanted no other but Alana, and by God, he shall have her!
"I will take you home myself, you will not be unchaperoned!"
"You can't be for real Evan!" Suddenly feeling a chill up her spine, Saundra pulled the ivory sheet and wrapped it around her shoulders, "you don't love me anymore, I can feel it."
Evan raised an eye brow, "love you?"
Holding back her tears, Saundra tried but failed miserably to look in control of herself, "I thought you loved me and we would get married."
