Michael sighed as he looked at Luke laying on the couch. He apparently hadn't been feeling good for a few days. Michael always said Luke was just a hypochondriac, which annoyed the blonde boy.
"Michael, can you please get me some tea?" Luke asked softly, not daring to move or else the pain would shoot through his abdomen.
"Luke, cmon. You can do it. I promise everything's okay. It's just in your head." Michael said, helping Luke up.
Luke winced, not being able to stand on his right leg.
"Michael, something's not right." Luke cried, feeling an unbearable pain.
"You say that all the time." Michael laughed.
"Please just drive me to the hospital. I feel like I'm being stabbed." Luke whimpered.
"Luke, you're fine." Michael told him, but as soon as tears started falling from Luke's eyes, he knew something was up.
"Baby?" Michael asked. He's been pretty busy with work lately, so usually he thinks Luke is just doing stuff like this for attention, but he can tell that's not the case this time.
"Michael, please." Luke cried.
"Uh. Okay.." Michael whispered, running to get his keys. He stuffed his phone n his pocket, and when he turned around, he saw Luke fall to the ground, a scream of pain leaving his lips.
"Luke!" Michael yelled, picking him up.
He carried Luke out to the car. He's never been so worried before.
He laid him in the backseat, quickly getting into the drivers seat. He pulled out of the driveway quickly, reaching his hand back so Luke could hold it.
He cried the entire way there, squeezing Michael's hand tightly.
"Where does it hurt?" He asked.
"My s-side.." Luke cried.
He held Luke's hand tightly, not letting Luke see how scared he really was.
-
Michael watched as Luke was quickly taken back into a hospital room.
He sighed and sat down in the waiting room chair as he ran his hands over his face. He wishes he would've believed Luke, but it's just so hard to when he claims he's sick all of the time. He couldn't help it.
"Luke hemmings?" The doctor asked a few minutes later, so Michael stood up.
"You can come with me.." He said, so Michael nodded, following him. "...Luke has appendicitis and if we don't remove his appendix immediately it's only going to get worse. We have given him some pain killers, and we are wanting to take him to surgery as soon as possible. Is there a parent of his that we need to call?" He asked.
"No, sir. Luke hasn't spoken with his parents in two years." Michael said softly.
"Okay, we're going to prepare the surgery, and we will tell you when it's ready," he said, and Michael nodded, stepping into Luke's room.
"Hi Michael.." He whispered, and smiled.
"Feeling better?" Michael asked, and Luke nodded.
"I can't really feel anything at all. I'm really tired." He whispered, so Michael sat down, after the doctor left them alone.
He placed a hand on Luke's cheek, and lightly smiled.
"I'm really worried about you, you know?" Michael said, and Luke laughed.
"Don't be. I'm gonna be okay. They've done this operation a lot." Luke whispered.
"I know, but I wish I would've believed you and we could've gotten here sooner, and I'm so sorry." Michael whispered, but Luke just squeezed his hand.
"I'm gonna be fine, and that's all that matters. We're okay."
-
Michael was a nervous wreck through the entire procedure even though he knew the doctors were highly, highly trained. Accident happen, and that's what he was scared of.
He stood up quickly when the doctor came in the room. "Luke is-"
"That went by way too fast. It has to take longer than that right? You can't be done already? Is Luke okay?" Michael asked quickly, crossing his shaky arms.
"Mr. Clifford, Luke is completely okay. He asked for you." The doctor laughed at Michael's worry. There was nothing he should worry about.
"Thank God.." Michael whispered, quickly walking to Luke's room to see his adorable boyfriend waiting for him.
"You did amazing." Michael whispered, kissing Luke's forehead.
"So did you." Luke whispered.
"What are you talking about?" Michael asked.
"You were so worried, I'm surprised you made it through the day without them having to put you on an oxygen tank." Luke laughed, still feeling weak.
"Be quiet. I always worry about you," he said softly, kissing Luke one more time.
