"Happy Birthday, Luke." Michael whispered, kissing Luke's forehead.
"It's my birthday?" Luke asked with wide eyes. Michael furrowed his brows and looked down at Luke.
"Yes it's your birthday." Michael laughed, and Luke shrugged.
"Every year I try to forget." Luke laughed, sitting on the couch.
Michael frowned, and sat beside Luke. They met through tumblr, and talked for a really long time. Finally, Luke turned 18 and moved away from his abusive family. They never celebrated his birthday, and this is the first year somebody actually remembered. Luke even forgot the day he was born. Maybe because he wishes that day never would've happened.
"I got you something." Michael told him, handing him a small box.
"Really?" Luke asked, smiling as he held the box. He's never had a present before.
He opened it and smiled at the little collar. "Kinky.." he laughed, snuggling back into Michaels shoulder.
Michael laughed, and picked something else up out of a box, placing it on Luke's lap.
The blondes eyes widened, a smile crossing his face.
"I know you said you get lonely when I go to work, so I thought this might help." Michael whispered as Luke held the white baby kitten.
"Michael, she's beautiful." Luke whispered, completely mesmerized.
Michael kissed Luke's temple, and he sat the kitten down in the box for a second. Luke turned around and hugged Michaels neck tightly.
"Michael, thank you. You have made this the best birthday I have ever had, and not by buying me stuff, but by just being here. I've never had anybody care for me like you do, and I couldn't ask for anything else. Thank you." Luke told him, hugging him again.
"I love you." Michael whispered.
"I love you too." Luke told him.
Michael picked the Kitten back up and handed her to Luke. He watched in adoration as Luke held the cat, allowing it to play with the piece of hair dangling down from his head.
Michael always said he wouldn't let an animal in his house, but since Luke's living with him, he'd do anything to make him happy.
