Michael
I walked into the crying baby's room, and saw Luke sitting on the floor, cradling her head in his arms.
I yawned and stepped in. It was a little after three in the morning, and Luke had been in here for ten minutes.
I walked in further and saw Luke trying to fix a bottle, and hold her at the same time. He's such a good dad.
She rejected the bottle, and continued to cry hysterically.
He still didn't know I was in there yet.
I heard him sigh while he rocked the baby. "Please please please go back to sleep." He said, and his voice cracked.
I placed my hand on his back, and he turned to me with tears in his eyes.
"Luke you haven't slept at all this week." I whispered, and kissed his forehead.
"I know, but I want you to sleep." He whispered, and I took the baby from his arms. She began to calm down a little bit, so I stood up. I took Luke's hand, and led him back to the bedroom.
I laid down, and the baby laid on my chest. She softly cried, and hit my chest a little, but she was calming down. I pulled Luke over to me, and wrapped my right arm around him, letting him lay down on my shoulder.
"Go to sleep, baby. I'll stay up with Lilly." I said, and kissed the top of his head.
The two eventually fell asleep, and I was going to put Lilly back in her crib, but I decided not to. I love being able to hold my two favorite people.
