Michael watched as Luke walked down the hallway. He's such a sweetheart.
"You look like a girl!" Someone yelled from across the hall, so Luke looked down, clutching his folder to his chest, and adjusting his back pack straps.
"He only wears those socks because he's on his knees all day!" Someone else yelled, referring to Luke light pink socks that came up to his mid thigh.
He looked around, and tried to walk past all of the people, but they pushed him back.
Luke was new here, so it already had to be hard enough for him. He didn't need people saying stuff like that to him.
"Aw. Is the little princess gonna cry?" Someone said in a baby voice.
Michael sighed, and just hoped they would stop. He was never one to intervene.
Once Luke was pushed to his knees, people stopped, and looked, but no one did anything as awful, homophobic, shameful comments were thrown at Luke.
Michael quickly walked over, and picked Luke back up to his feet, grabbing his wrist and pulling them through the crowd.
"P-Please don't hurt me. I'll do anything.." Luke whispered, tears falling from his eyes as they came into a stairwell that no one used.
"I'm not gonna hurt you." Michael said and sat on the stairs. Luke hesitantly took the spot beside him.
"Thank you for helping me." He said softly, and looked over at the cute boy sitting beside him.
"Usually I'm not the type of person to get involved but- never mind." Michael said, laughing a little.
"No. Tell me.." Luke whispered.
"It's just, you're so sweet to everyone, and I don't get how they could make fun of you like that. Your socks are adorable and you're so pretty. They're just stupid." Michael said and Luke blushed.
"The only thing they did right was call you a princess because, I mean, you are one and now I'm saying too much." Michael said, stopping himself.
Luke smiled, and rested his chin on Michaels shoulder.
"No you're not. Tell me more because you're making a sad princess a happy princess." Luke whispered, causing Michael to laugh at him.
Michael turned and wiped the remaining tears out from under Luke's eyes.
"I like your skirt a lot." Michael said, causing Luke to smile.
"Thank you." Luke giggled.
"Do you maybe wanna get coffee after school?" Michael asked softly, so Luke nodded quickly.
"I would love to."
