Luke never really knew what to do when Michael got sick. He wanted to be able to help, but he just didn't know what Michael was feeling.
"Can I get you anything?" Luke asked softly as he stepped into their room.
"No.." Michael muttered, so Luke quickly grabbed Michael's empty water bottle and left the room. He felt like he was bothering Michael.
The doctor said Michael wasn't contagious. His sinuses were just acting up. He was dizzy, and had a dry throat. His stuffy nose caused his head to ache, and he was just feeling miserable.
Luke filled up the water bottle, and ran back upstairs. Michael was supposed to drink a lot of water, and Luke wanted him to feel better so he's been trying his hardest to help.
"I filled your water bottle, and I can get you something if you're h-"
"Shut up!" Michael groaned, so Luke nodded, scratching the back of his neck.
"Do you want me to turn on the tv? We could watch a movie together if-"
"Go." He spat, so Luke sat down the remote, sighing.
"I'm sorry. I know you don't need me, but I'm worried about you, and I-"
"Luke.." Michael warned, so the blonde boy silently nodded before leaving the room.
He wasn't helping at all like he wanted to. He doesn't understand how Michael does it. When Luke's sick, Michael does everything right, and has Luke feeling so much better. Luke wants to be like that.
-
"Luke?" Michael yelled a few hours later, so Luke ran up the stairs, walking into their room.
"Fix a shower for me." He said, so Luke nodded. He wanted to be able to do something without messing it up.
Once the water was running, he let Michael in.
While Michael was showering, Luke turned on the sink to wash Michael combs. Luke knows Michael always likes to comb out his hair after a shower, so he's washing all of the hairspray out.
"What the hell, Luke?" Michael yelled, shutting the shower off. "You can't turn on the cold water in here while I'm in the shower. It makes my water hot!" He yelled, still feeling his skin burning.
"I- I'm sorry. I didn't know it did that.." Luke whimpered.
"Just please stop trying to help me." Michael muttered, wrapping the towel around his waist.
"Oh. Okay. Can I lay down in our bed?" Luke asked softly, feeling his heart sink.
"Yeah whatever." Michael mumbled.
Luke quickly left the bathroom and walked back to their shared room. He slipped his pants off, and slid into bed, letting the pillow catch his tears.
He doesn't even know how to take care of Michael. It's his role as a boyfriend to care for Michael, but he keeps messing up.
A few minutes later, after Luke had calmed down, Michael came in and laid beside Luke.
Luke propped himself up on his elbow and pushed Michael's hair back.
"I know you don't want me to help anymore, but you feel hot." Luke said, running his hand over Michael's forehead.
Luke kissed Michael's head before laying back down."I'm sorry I messed up so much today. I just wanted to be able to make you feel better like you do to me." Luke whispered.
"I appreciate you, Luke. A lot." Michael whispered, so Luke looked down.
"You do?" He asked.
"Yes. Of course I do. I know I get grumpy when I'm not feeling good, and I spoke to you too harshly, but you didn't do anything wrong. You do help a lot. Even by just laying here beside me," he said, causing a smile to break out across Luke's face.
