Luke looked over as he played his guitar, hearing Michaels beautiful voice sound through the stadium.
He looked at Michael, noticing everything about him from the way his eyes crinkled to the way his hair stuck to his forehead.
Luke stepped up to the mic, singing the rest of the song with the guys, looking out into all of the lights, the only thing keeping him going was Michael standing right beside him.
-
"Amazing show tonight, guys! Drinks on me!" Their manager yelled, and Luke lightly smiled in return as all of the guys cheered.
He just wanted to go back to the hotel.
"Michael, I'm tired." Luke whispered to his best friend.
Michael looked back, and nodded. "I'll come back to the hotel with you if you want." He said, so Luke nodded, smiling a little.
"Hey, I think me and Luke are just gonna hang back at the hotel and play video games or something," Michael said, and everyone nodded, letting them go.
They quickly put on their jackets, despite them being sweaty, and ran out to the suv in the 30 degree weather.
"That was a sick show tonight." Michael said, resting his back against the seat as the driver put in the address.
"It was. You did amazing tonight. I like it when you go solo on jet black heart." Luke said, so Michael looked over.
"Really? Why?" He laughed.
Luke wanted to tell him that it was because he'd listen to Michaels voice for the rest of his life. He was in love.
"I dont know. It's just more personal I think. Plus it gives us a little break." Luke laughed, so Michael nudged his arm.
They listened to the radio the rest of the way there in silence, but mostly, Luke just listened to Michael sing along.
-
"Why did you just kill me?! We agreed to form an ally!" Michael yelled at Luke, furiously tapping buttons on his controller.
"Because I can." Luke said, shooting Michael as soon as he was back in.
"I hate you!" Michael yelled, making Luke laugh at him again.
Luke shook his damp hair out of his eyes, and looked over at the clock, seeing it was past 11:00
"Michael, it's really late." Luke said, pausing the game.
"Well. I'm not done." Michael said, and Luke signed himself out, laying against Michaels shoulder.
"Luke, you can go to bed if you want." Michael laughed, but Luke shook his head.
"We always go to bed at the same time." Luke mumbled, so Michael slung an arm around him, connecting it back onto the controller once Luke was snuggled into his chest.
"Mikey, please. I'm tired." Luke whispered.
"Fine." Michael said softly, shutting off the Xbox.
Luke smiled and crawled under the covers, waiting for Michael.
Michael turned around and smiled at Luke.
Luke is precious.
Michael crawled into bed beside him, immediately being met with Luke scooting over to him before he could put his second leg up.
"Luke, I have no space. Please stay on your side." Michael told him, pushing him all the way to the other side of the bed.
"I don't want to stay on my side.." Luke mumbled, waiting until Michael had laid down to crawl over, and lay on his chest.
"Whatever." Michael whispered, running a hand through Luke's hair.
"I love you Mikey. You're my best friend." Luke whispered, making Michaels heart beat a little faster.
"I love you too."
-
Michael looked down at Luke who was laying beside him, sound asleep.
He sighed and ran a finger over Luke's cheek.
What would Luke think if Michael told him he loves him as more than a best friend? Would it change everything?
That's all Michael could think of.
Luke was so beautiful to him. So, so beautiful.
He loves the way the dim light casts off of Luke's face, and how dark his hair looks when it's wet. He loves the way Luke's back rises up and down with every breath he takes. He loves everything.
He's in love with everything about his adorable, shy, sensitive, hot, rockstar best friend.
-
"How are you guys doing tonight?!" Luke yelled through the mic, smiling at the response he got.
"Everyone in this place, I want you to stand up right now, and I wanna see you have fun. Forget about everything going on outside of this place." Luke said as Michael started the intro to the song airplanes.
Luke joined in, and glanced over at Michael, blushing as he saw him already looking at him.
Even through Michaels solo, his eyes were on Luke.
He looks good in stripes. He looks good with sweat dripping down his face. He looks good with his veins popping out of his arms. He looks good in the spotlight.
Everything about Luke looks good to Michael, and he couldn't take his eyes off of him.
As they sang in sync, Luke caught Michael looking at him again.
He couldn't keep the smile off of his face as he looked down, playing his guitar again.
He saw Michael from the corner of his eye. He was walking over to Luke.
They sang through the same mic, eyes locked one each other. A little over three inches apart.
In this moment, it was clear that they both felt the same.
And later that night, they showed each other just how in love they were.
