Michael knocked on the door of Luke's house, waiting patiently with a bouquet of flowers in his hand.
He smiled when the door opened to reveal a blonde woman. She had the same eyes as Luke, and the exact same hair color.
"Is that Michael?!" He heard Luke yell from the top of the stairs before he could even say hi to Luke's mom. Luke's head peeked around the corner, and his eyes softened. "I'll be ready in a few minutes.." He said softly, not wanting Michael to wait on him.
"Take your time, sweetheart." Michael said, making Luke smile and run back down the hall to his room.
"Hi. Mrs. Hemmings, I'm Michael," he said, and shook her hand.
"Nice to finally meet you Michael. Luke can't stop talking about you." She said, making Michael smile.
Luke and Michael have been dating for two months but with business trips and late shifts, Liz never had time to meet him.
She was a little skeptical of his piercings and his colored hair along with the tattoos going up his arm. He didn't seem like someone who was good for Luke.
"So, um, Michael? How did you and Luke meet?" Liz asked, walking with Michael to the kitchen.
"I just moved here about two months ago and the first day, Luke walked into class and he was crying. I couldn't believe the stuff people were saying to him as he walked to the back of the class to take his seat that was right beside mine. We were lab partners. I remember forcing him to play tic tac toe just to cheer him up. It worked," Michael laughed, and Liz lightly smiled.
"I'm ready.." Michael heard a soft voice say, so he looked back, seeing Luke in a loose, baby pink shirt with a denim jacket, black jeans, and white converse. "...do I look okay?" He asked, and Michael smiled, hugging Luke tightly.
"You look absolutely gorgeous." Michael told him, kissing his forehead. Luke smiled as Michael placed the flowers in his hand.
"We're gonna leave, mama." Luke said, and she nodded, putting the flowers in a vase for Luke.
"Be home by 10:30. I don't care if tomorrow's a Saturday, I don't want you staying out too late." She said, so Luke nodded, hugging her bye.
-
"I don't think she likes me.." Michael said softly as him and Luke watched the waves crash onto the shore. It was 9:46, and they had to leave soon
"Who?" Luke asked.
"Your mom. She just gave off this weird vibe. I dont know..." Michael laughed.
"She's just got to get to know you a little more. Anyway, I didn't like you at first. I thought you looked scary, but you were so nice to me." Luke said, laying his head on Michael shoulder.
Michael lightly smiled, looking down to press a soft kiss to Luke's lips. "Now you're all mine.." The blonde boy whispered, tangling his fingers with Michael's.
"I just want her to like me." Michael laughed.
"I want her to like you too, but she's scared when it comes to me dating. I heard her on the phone one night," Luke said, and Michael looked down.
"She's scared I'm just gonna get my heart broken. I know people say your parents shouldn't be your friends, but my mom is my best friend. I haven't really had anyone else besides her. She's always been there for me, and she just doesn't want me to get hurt." Luke said, and Michael nodded.
"She sounds wonderful." Michael said, kissing Luke's head.

Luke and Michael ran into the house at 10:40 only to he met with an irritated looking Liz.
"Mama I'm sorry. There was a little kitty in the middle of the street, and Michael waited for me while I took it back to the house it belonged to. We would've been on time, but it needed help. It's not Michael's fault." Luke said, clinging onto Michael's arm.
"It's okay, Luke." She laughed, and he smiled.
"I should probably get going." Michael said, so Luke hugged him tightly. Michael placed one hand on the back of Luke's neck, the other one holding his waist tightly.
"I'll call you tomorrow, baby." Michael told him, kissing his forehead.
Michael and Liz watched in infatuation as Luke ran off to his bedroom.
"Goodnight, Mrs. Hemmings. Thank you for letting m-"
"Michael?" She asked, making Michael nervous. She probably was gonna tell him to stay away.
"Don't you dare break his heart." She said with a hint of hurt in her voice. "I never thought Luke would be this happy. Before you came along, he came home crying every day because people called him ugly and made fun of him. You make him so happy. That smile hasn't left his face. Please don't hurt him." She said, her voice becoming shaky.
"I wouldn't dream of it."
