Luke smiled as he sat beside the bed on his knees. His eyes were wide as he watched the little kitten try to walk across the bed.
"Mikey! She's doing it. She's learning to walk!" Luke said softly.
"I see." Michael whispered and smiled at Luke who sat there, watching in infatuation.
His kitten ear headband was crooked and his shirt was wrinkled now, but he still looks beautiful.
"You look gorgeous, baby." Michael whispered, and leaned down, kissing Luke's head.
Luke gasped when Michael picked up the kitten. "No! Michael!" He whined.
"I know shes learning, and I know you're excited but it's time for bed." Michael said softly.
Luke sat criss cross on the ground and pouted as Michael put the kitten in her play pen, and got Luke's pajamas out.
"Come here, sweetheart." Michael said, and picked Luke up, sitting him on the bed.
"I wanted to watch her walk.." Luke said softly.
"I know, but we can't do that all day tomorrow. Right now, you need to get to sleep. You get grumpy if you don't get at least your full 7 hours." Michael told him, taking off the kitty headband.
He pulled Luke's shirt off and replaced it with a looser one.
Luke kicked off his jeans stubbornly and just sat on the edge of the bed.
"Come on, baby. I'll cuddle you if it'll make you feel better." He said, and Luke smiled, turning around.
He scooted over and laid down in Michael's arms. "See. You're not even mad." Michael laughed, kissing Luke's forehead.
"Not anymore." Luke said, and smiled at Michael.
"Go to sleep, babe. I've got you." Michael whispered, turning off the lamp.
Michael laid there with Luke in his arms. One of the younger boys legs was slung over Michael's waist and he laid on his shoulder.
Michael snuggled closer, holding Luke just a little tighter.
"Goodnight, kitten."
