The wind blew against the trees as you sat in your room watching the storm unfold outside. Loud Crashes of thunder accompanied bright purple so light enough if you weren't paying close attention you would think it was white flashes of lightning. The fastly apporoaching darkness put a veil over the clouds giving them a sad and dreary appearance. You stared outside waiting for the rain to start pouring as if someone was dumping buckets from the heavens.
You watched as the wind swirled around the palm trees' branches, picking some up while throwing others down. You looked down for a brief second, but a flash of lightning made your head perk right up again. By now you could feel the thunder vibrating through the and see bits of the lightening even if you didn't look up.
As loud or as bright the storm was, it didn't scare you rather you quite enjoyed looking outside. There was something calming about how the storm was. Maybe it was the way that when the lightning flashed you could see every fine detail of the cloud nearby. Maybe it was because of how big the strom was that it made you feel small. Whatever the reason actually was, you found peace it watching the storm boom and flash above your head.
You had closed your eye, listening to the rain trickle off the roof top when you heard the doorbell rang. You quickly got up to see if there was any cars were in your driveway. You saw nothing, so you decided to rest your eyes. You heard th rain fall and thunder crash, but all too soon was there a famliar sound of your doorbell. You opened you eyes, and looked out the window. Still there was no sound, except for the ones from the storm. You checked one last time before laying down again. You had closed you eyes for thirty seconds when something was tapping on your window. You opened your eyes, and saw two people staring at you. You were in such a state up surprise that you jumped up from position on the chair and fell on the ground landing on your butt.
You scrambled up and ran to your window, pulling it up as quickly as you can. As you were lifting the window you coud see that the two people were actually men, one with short blonde hair and the other with significantly shorter dark hair.
"H...hi" You say looking at the two men.
"Hello" The blond said.
"Wha....what...are the two of you doing outside in this storm." You say still trying to comprehend why there were two men standing outside when it was thundering outside.
"Well, you see..." the blond starts before the other one cuts in.
"We are travelers coming from London, but sadly when trying to return home we seemed to have lost our way. Now that this loud storm is upon us, I'm afraid we have no place to seek shelter." he says.
"And that's why your carrying rifles and from the looks of it a shield? Not to mention, there is such as google maps, so to say that you are lost is really more of a lie than a truth." You say pointing at their weapons.
"Well you see, my dear lady, those are not true rifles only one that carries paintball?" he says shifting uncomfortably. You were about to respond when the wind picked up drastically and the rain began to pour harder.
"As much as I hate to do this, Come inside. Just...just kill me okay?" You sigh rubbing a hand against your forehead. The men laugh as they walk over to the door which you quickly run over to open for them. They walk inside, taking off their combat boots and leaving their weapons at the door.
"So why are you really here?" You say making your way to the kitchen to brew some tea.
"I have no idea what you are talking about," The man with shorter hair says.
"Don't play dumb, I know your really not from Britain. You have combat boots on and military grade weapons, so at first, one would presume you were some sort of CIA agents, but the weapon is not something that can easily hide so your not going undercover. Your friend over there has a metal shield which is definitely not something any national security agency trains with. I was thinking you guys work as private hitmen, but that wouldn't add up because of your clothes" you say pointing at each detail as you go along.
"What's wrong with my clothes?" The man asks.
"Nothing, they're just conspicuous. I mean no one is going to where that" you say bringing your hand in an up and down motion "when they are trying not to get caught. So since you're not exactly hiding your identity, I think you work with someone like Tony Stark who doesn't care about who you are. And yet your goggles. Now here's the thing, you could be wearing goggles because the one you need to cover your eyes against stuff flying in your face or two you just don't want people to recognize you. I'm going with number one with because it's just goggles and not a full blown mask. So who wears goggles, knows Tony Stark, and has a blond best friends...oh wait I know you're Sam Wilson aka Falcon and your bestie is Steve Rogers aka Captain Freaking America."
Sam looks at you in shock then turns to Steve who's mouth is open. You laugh at their faces and go pour the hot water into a glass. When you turn around the men still have shocked expressions but Steve had closed his mouth.
"How did you just do that?" Sam asks.
"Looks of Sherlock Holmes books, Macgyver, and writing. You tend to pick up on small details like that. Now for a back story. I think you guys were in Miami for some Hydra nonsense and the team was supposed to pick you up in Coral Gables, but since you guys rarely ever vacation with the whole 'Must save the world' type of thing you got confused with Coral Springs. You guys were in the area when the wind started to pick up. You quickly thought to yourselves that there was a safe house in my neighborhood, and since I'm the only one here right now, you guys thought I was the safe house. So am I right? Oh, wait no I forgot something. Your team has trackers on you in case something happens so they tracked you here, and their right outside the door right about now" When you finish the doorbell rings. You quickly walk over to it and open it.
"See told you so..." You say grinning at the men.
"Are you sure you aren't apart of the FBI or something?" Sam asks walking to the door.
"No, just a nerd who knows her stuff." You say escorting them out, "Well it's been fun, you should better get going before the rain picks up again"
"You want to come with us?" Sam asks looking at you with puppy dog eyes.
"Sorry, no can do. I have to take care of my neighbor's dogs. Although if you ever aren't busy with your superhero stuff, your always welcome to swing by." You offer.
"What makes you so sure I'll come back," He asks.
"One you got my phone number in your pocket, and two...this," You say kissing his cheek softly.
"Oh yeah, I'm definitely coming back." He says before you close the door, leaving you to the next lighting, thunder, and Wind.
