What does the future hold

It's been about a month since I've slept in my own bed. Mer and I have been growing apart. We had a meeting this morning so I was getting ready.
" Karev are you coming?"
" later I am practicing my speech for the board seat."
" you'll do fine."
" but it's between me and Bailey and everybody loves Bailey."
" Karev. Breathe. You'll do fine." I opened the door to walk out but I was stopped.
" oh hi, I thought you would've been gone by now." Mer was standing outside. I moved to the side to let her in " thanks". She continued.
" Karev I'll see you later."
" bye Shepherd."
" Derek." Mer said.
I stopped and looked at her.
" I miss you."
I looked down. " mmhmm." And I walked away. I didn't know what to do. Of course I still loved her it's just... We were growing apart.
I got to work.
" shepherd where is your wife?"
" she'll be here." I said glaring at him. Everybody arrived 15 minutes before the meeting. Except for Mer.
" shepherd where is she."
" hunt I don't know. Now stop."
I was talking to Mark when I saw Mer and Alex down the hall.
" Derek!" She called.
" I'll meet you in there."
Mark nodded and headed in.
" Derek I need to talk to you."
" Where have you been?"
" Alex's. listen I need to talk to you."
" you smell like alcohol."
" yeah I'm a little drunk. "
" WAIT YOUR DRUNK?!" I yelled through my teeth.
" yeah I needed to talk to him and he needed to practice his speech."
" SO YOU'RE TELLING ME WE STAYED IN SEATTLE SO YOU COULD PLAY HOOKIE AND GET DRUNK WITH YOUR FRIENDS?!"
Nobody said a word. I shook my head and headed in to the meeting. We all voted for Alex to become the new board member. I was going to sleep here overnight so I grabbed an on- call room. Meredith walked in and locked the door.
" what are you doing?" I asked.
She didn't respond. She shut the blinds and started to undress herself.
" meredith...."
" shh don't say anything."
She pushed me on the bed and undressed us both.
" Meredith.. I can't."
I started to walk towards the door.
" you can't have sex with your wife?"
" not while we're fighting."
" then pause."
Pause was a secret thing we had when we were fighting. It meant everything stops so we can talk it out.
" well?" I asked.
" well what?"
" when you say pause you have to say something, it's not a mute button. That's not how it works."
" well I want to use it as a mute button because I've been living in a house that my husband built for us for a month alone and I haven't had any human contact with him so I say pause."
She walked towards me. She pulled down my boxers. I gave in. I picked her up and she wrapped her legs around my waist. I started to kiss her hard. She was propped up against the wall.
" no games. Just sex." She whispered.
" fine by me."
I threw her on the bed and hovered over he. Then I slammed into her. The bunk beds were squeaking with every thrust.
" GOD DEREK YES!" Meredith yelled. I didn't try to keep her quiet. I kissed her hard. I had to support her head so it wouldn't slam on the metal of the beds.
" GOD MEREDITH YES RIGHT THERE!"

JO POV:

I was looking for Derek since Alex said he was sleeping here. I walked passed a room and stopped.
" oh no..." I said
" what is it?" Alex asked.
" listen."
" GOD DEREK YES RIGHT THERE!"
" YES MER COME FOR ME!"
" only you go to these rooms when things are going on." Alex said
" it's not funny."
" they're back together jo it's good."
" what if they aren't?"
" then we still support them."

MEREDITH POV:

He felt so good inside me. I've missed this. I've missed him. I don't know what I would do if he ever left me.

DEREK POV:

I've got to admit I've missed her but I needed to think about me for once but not right now.
" YES MER!"
" YES DEREK!"
We both came and then I cuddle her the rest of the night as we laid there.
" I miss you." She whispered.
" I miss you too." I said back. I finally realized that I meant it. I missed her.
