I started to think. Why does Derek want to see this baby so bad? I followed Derek.
" Derek." I said
" yeah?"
" do you need to tell me something?"
" what do you mean?"
" you've been running around this hospital and people are telling me you look ghostly. What is going on with you."
" he has my eyes."
" I'm sorry? Who?"
" the baby."
It clicked.
" Derek..."
" I know I shouldn't have. It was when we went to help cooper's boy. I was still pissed about everything that happened..." I cut him off.
" D.C.? YOU WERE MAD ABOUT DC WHEN YOU CHEATED ON ME?!"
" meredith..."
" of course you were because why wouldn't you be mad. I THOUGHT WE WERE THROUGH THIS DEREK!"
" I didn't mean for it to happen."
" Derek what did you do."
" I'm sorry."
" I'm sure you are. We're done Derek for good."
I walked away. Alex met me in the hall.
" what's wrong?" He asked
" nothing just leave me alone alex."
" no. Stop. Meredith when Cristina left she left me you to take care of so what's going on?"
" the baby looks like Derek."
" I'm sorry? What?" He asked and then it clicked " Meredith no..."
" he was mad about DC and he slept with her when we went to see Mason."
" Mer..."
" it's over. Alex. You were right. The miracle never lasts."
I walked away.

NOBODY POV:

Alex called a board meeting.
" where's Meredith and Derek?" Jackson asked
" this is about Meredith and Derek."
All eyes and ears were on him.
" I'm just gonna get straight to the point. The baby belongs to Derek ."
" what?" Callie asked
" the baby is Derek's? Addison's baby?"  April asked
" yes." Alex said
All their heads went down.
" how's Mer?" Owen asked
" distraught. She broke it off with Derek."
" the mcdreamys are done?" Callie asked
" they're done. It's over. Derek broke Meredith."
They all stated at each other until their pagers went off.
" Addison's awake." Jackson said and they went to her room.
" how's my baby?" She asked
" good. Healthy." Arizona said
Meredith came into the room. You could tell she's been crying.
" can everybody give us a moment." She said and they left.
" Meredith? what's wrong?" Addison asked
" everything apparently. I know Derek told me."
" told you what?"
" that the baby is his?"
Addison's eyes went wide.
" I'm sorry what?!"
" he told me he slept with you."
" Meredith the baby isn't his."
" I just don't understand how YOU of all people could CHEAT again! You knew how bad it felt and here you are doing it to ME! Maybe this is karma or maybe it's just you two being Bitches!"
" MEREDITH THE BABY ISNT DEREK's!" Addison interrupted.
Meredith just stared at her.
" it's not his Mer." Addison said
" are you sure?"
" yes. Do a maternity test but I'm positive Derek is not the father. We didn't even cheat. He was drunk that night when he came to my house  and he wanted to but I stopped him because I do know what it feels like to e cheated on. I put him on the couch. He probably doesn't remember what he did because he was drunk. The baby doesn't even look like him. Mer, he never would cheat on you."
" but he says..."
" Meredith he did not cheat."
" thanks Addison."
" wait mer."
" yeah?"
" the miracle isn't over."
She smiled and walked out.
" Arizona."  Mer said
" yeah?"
" do a maternity test on Derek's baby."
" okay." She said
" wait why are we doing a maternity test?" Jo asked
" because Derek didn't cheat." Jackson said

LATER ON...

" Meredith!" Arizona yelled.
"You got them?" Mer asked
" yeah. Here."
Meredith opened the file.
" Derek isn't the father."
" he didn't cheat."
A smile came across her face and Meredith went to find Derek.
" have you seen Dr. shepherd?" She asked a nurse
" on- call room 4." She said and Mer went in to see Derek crying.
" Derek." She said and he looked up.
" I'm so sorry Mer she never told me she was pregnant. Don't end this please I still love you." She interrupted him.
" Derek stop talking. You're not the father."
" what?"
" we ran a maternity test and you're not the father."  I handed him the file " I spoke with Addison and she said you were drunk that night and she put you on the couch. That you didn't do anything. Said you were too drunk to remember anything. Derek you didn't cheat."
" oh my god thank you."  He started to cry and gave Mer a hug.
" it's okay." She said
" I'm so sorry Mer."
" you didn't do anything Derek."
" I don't want us to be over."
" we aren't. This will never be over."
He kissed her hard.
" I'm never letting go." He said
