The beginning of the end

Nobody POV:

Meredith got ready for work. She was 7 months pregnant. Her and Derek are back to their usual selves.
Before she left she ran into her bedroom.
" Derek I'm leaving I'll see you in a bit." She kissed him.
" bye I'll see you later enjoy the night shift."

With that she was in the car and on the way to work. Suddenly sharp pains everywhere. 'Labor? No not possibly that would cause everything to go black.' She thought to herself. She couldn't move.

Meredith POV:

' sirens? Why are there sirens?' I thought to myself.
I could hear somebody talking.
" do we know if he was under the influence?" I'm guessing a cop asked
" yes. He was. Drinking and driving." The other cop said
" any damage?"
" no he's fine, if only he could see her."
" she's pregnant."
" how long do you think?"
" 5-6 months."
' 7' I thought
" that's a shame. She would've been a great mom."
" how do you know."
" sometime you can just tell."
' I am a mom.' I thought
" well let's see if we can get her out of there."
" HEY GUYS I FOUND HER PURSE!" Somebody yelled.
" bring it here." One of the cops said.
" she's a surgeon Rob."
" what? What do you mean Ken?"
" I mean her name is Dr. Meredith Grey from Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital."
" oh my god."
" GUYS GET HER OUT OF THERE NOW!" Ken yelled

AT THE HOSPITAL....

" 35 year old Jane Doe  female car accident victim. Unconscious since we arrived. 5-6 months pregnant." Ken said.
" 7 months. She's 7 months pregnant." Alex said
" what are you talking about Karev." Owen said
" that's Meredith. It's Meredith." Alex said
Everyone's heart dropped.
" how long did it take you to get her out?" Owen asked
" 2 hours. We couldn't do anything it was bad."
" did you contact her family?" Jackson asked
" no."
" get her to trauma room 1 now!"
" Page Amelia!" Jackson yelled
" no she's too close to her." Owen said
" Derek can't do it has to be her."
Amelia came in.
" what do we got?" She asked and stopped.
" no, no no no no no!" She yelled
" Amelia, we need you to check her out." Alex said with tears in his eyes.
Amelia checked her out and had tears in her eyes.
" is there anything?" Alex asked
Amelia just shook her head and everyone started to cry. Everybody was there.

Derek POV:

The phone began to ring.
" hello?" I answered
" Derek Sheperd?"
" yes."
" you are the emergency contact for Meredith Grey. We need you down at the hospital."
" what why?" I asked with tears in my eyes. Suddenly police, fire, ambulance lights showed up in front of the house.
"Mr. Shepherd?"
" I gotta go." I said and hung up.
There was a knock on the door.

Alex POV:

I called Addison. Her helicopter just landed.
" how long has she been down?" She asked when she saw her
" 3 hours."
" Derek?"
" still not here."
" let's get the baby out of her."
They moved her to the OR.

Meredith POV:
( all her thoughts)

'This was it. This was the end for me. They need to save my baby.'
I heard the doors open. Footsteps.
" Meredith? Mer. Come on. Don't do this to him. He needs you. He's nothing without you. Mer please." Everybody was in the OR with tears in their eyes.
'Addison.' I thought ' good he'll have someone here for him'
" got the baby out." Addison said after a while.
" SHES CRASHING!" Jackson yelled
' just let me go it's okay. I'll be fine.'
" let her go Jackson." Owen said
" no Derek needs to say goodbye." Alex said
" let her go!" Owen yelled
" NO THIS IS JUST NOT ONE PATIENT. ITS MEREDITH. DEREK GETS TO SAY WHEN SO WE KEEP HER ALIVE TIL THEN."

Derek POV:

I opened the door.
" Dr. Derek Shepherd?" Ken asked with Rob right beside him and the fireman and ambulance there too.
" yes?"
They all took off their hats and stood at attention.
" your wife was in a car accident and taken to the hospital. Please follow us."
I got into their car and they drove me to the hospital.

Nobody POV:

Mer was out of surgery and the baby was in the NICU.
Derek came into the hospital.
" Alex." Jackson said
" oh god." Alex said when he saw him. They all lined up outside mer's room. Derek looked at them. They followed him into her room.
" OH GOD! MEREDITH NO PLEASE!" He yelled and they all began to cry again. Derek was on the floor but holding her hand. Amelia put a hand on his shoulder. He turned and broke down in her arms.
" Derek, I'm so sorry." Amelia said
Alex went over to him.
" I'm so sorry Derek. She's gone. There's nothing more we can do."
" no Mer please don't do this to me. I'm nothing without you please Mer." Derek kept repeating. Everybody had their heads down crying while holding hands. Another doctor came in.
" Dr. shepherd we were able to save the baby. But we need to make a decision."
" you want me to tell you whether I want you to unplug my wife who is dead but not really dead so to can harvest her organs with my permission? That's what you want? For me to act like any sane doctor? Then fine give me the papers."
" Dr. shepherd..."
" GIVE ME THE PAPERS!" He yelled. Everyone jumped a little. Derek signed the papers and then went to the NICU.
Addison was there.
" Derek I'm so sorry." She said hugging him
" she was everything to me Addison. What do I do now?"
" I don't know Derek. I don't know."
Amelia came in.
" it's time." She said
" wait." I said and wheeled the carriage to her room.
" Derek what are you doing?" Owen asked
" Mer, look. We made this. It's a girl. We're gonna name her just like we wanted to. So baby Ellis Meredith this is your mommy. Meredith this is your daughter. I know you tried your hardest Mer. I love you. I'll miss you. We all will. You're my everything Meredith."

' she's beautiful Derek. That's a beautiful name. You'll be fine Derek. Let me go. You'll be fine. You can do it. Everybody is here for you. Take care of the kid. Of yourself. I love you Derek.' Meredith thought

" are you ready Dr. shepherd?"
" WAIT! Just wait." I said
Everybody was silent. Addison took the baby from me and put her back in the carriage.
" Meredith? Meredith."
" ready?" The nurse asked
" no but go ahead."
Every memory came flashing back. " it's okay. You go. We'll be fine."
Then she took her last breath as they pulled the tubes out of her. She flatline and turned off the monitor. I lost it. We all did. We all broke down. This was it. The beginning of the end.
