Saying Goodbye

Nobody had surgeries today. We were only going to the hospital to say goodbye to cristina and then the after party at Alex's house.
" how many tissues do you think we should bring?" Derek joked.
" I don't know."
" aww come on I was kidding. Smile."
" I'm happy for her really it's just.."
" you didn't think your twisted sister would ever leave."
" no."

DEREK POV:
I gave her a hug and brought the kids to work.
" how you holdin up?" I asked Owen running into him on the way up to the attending lounge.
" hangin in there you?"
" I'm fine its meredith I'm worried about."
" yeah I hear ya."
The room was dark so we opened it.
" SURPRISE!" Everyone jumped and yelled.
Owen and I looked at each other.
" who did this?" I asked
" your wife." Alex said
" my wi.. Meredith?"
" yeah."
" where is she."
" getting the dessert."
I rolled my eyes and put the kids with the rest of them. Then Meredith came back.
" hey!" She chirped " did you bring the kids?"
" hi. Yeah they're playing with Elizabeth and all them."
" good. Thanks. Love you."
" love you too." She kissed me and walked away. Everyone was in the room. Then suddenly the lights turned off and the door opened. And we all yelled surprise again.
" Awww you guys this is so sweet!" She cheered tears forming in her eyes.
After a while I went over to Meredith.
" no one would know that you are so jealous and sad right now." I whispered.
" I'm not jealous nor am I sad."
" don't worry I won't tell anyone."
" no ones gonna think of it because what jealous and sad friend throws a surprise party for her best friend."
" you threw this party on purpose to hide it? That's extremely sexy."
" yeah well gotta keep the people thinking I'm happy."
" hey just know I'm here if you wanna talk or you know.."
" funny Derek. "

I hugged her and gave her a kiss. By the time we knew it we had to move this party to Alex's
It was time to make speeches as we all sat around the table to eat dinner.
Meredith clinked her glass.
" I figured I'd be first. Cristina, I couldn't be any happier for you than I am right now. You are the person that we both set out to be and I am so happy that you are going to go change the face of medicine. Good luck at Texas and don't forget to visit. We love you Cristina Yang. I'll forever be your person." She gave her a hug and they started crying.
" oh here come the waterworks!" Mark laughed.
I stood up.
" alright let me get this over with. Cristina i am so happy that you are moving on. I am so happy that you are chasing your dreams but I am gonna miss the other half of the twisted sisters. You have been there for me and Mer whenever we needed you. Thank you cristina. I love you. Good luck." I gave her a hug.
" well I guess it's my turn," alex said standing up " it's going to be weird for me and mer for us to be the only two left of the five that were originally here. I would just like to speak for all of us. We love you and wish the best for you. Do big Cristina. Good luck."
" aww love you evil spawn." Cristina said giving him a hug.
Bailey stood up.
" Cristina I have worked with you for years now and I have seen you grow up to what you are now. I just wish I can see you grow up to what you are going to be. Good luck cristina. I always said you were the one to beat. You. Love you." They hugged.
Then everyone else made a speech.
" okay I want to say goodbye to everyone individually and then all together. Bailey I'll start with you."
" what do you think she's gonna say?" Addison asked.
" I don't know but she's gonna make us all cry." I said
Bailey came out crying and went into the living room with tissues. I looked at Meredith and she looked worried.
" Richard." Cristina said.
" what is she saving me for last?" Meredith asked me.
" I don't know."
Richard came out and went into the living room.
" listen if she cracks Richard then she's gonna crack us all."
" Addison." She called.
Then it went Mark, Callie, Arizona, Jo, Heather, Shane, then she called me in.
" good luck." mer said
" Derek I just wanted you to know how much I love you. You have been like a brother to me for all this time and I am so happy that you and Meredith made it work. You guys are the McDreamys you are meant to be together. You make her so happy. She obviously lights up your world. Don't let that go Derek. I'm gonna miss you."
" I'm gonna miss you too Cristina. Good luck I love you."
" love you too. Send in your wife."
I walked out and wiped my tears.
" Meredith it's your turn." I said
She came and gave me a hug.
" yeah I'm fine go on in."

MEREDITH POV:

She broke Derek. That's impossible. I walked in.
" I chose you last because well we've known each other the longest. I'm gonna miss you the most. I'm so happy you found Derek. He makes you happy and don't ever let that go. You two are meant for each other. You will always be my person and I'll be back to visit before you know it. I love you Meredith Grey. I'm gonna miss you."
I was crying. " I'm gonna miss you too I love you Cristina Yang."
We hugged and walked out of the room.
" well I guess I better head out." She said. She gave everyone one last goodbye.
" Derek. goodbye."
" goodbye." They hugged each other.
" goodbye Meredith."
" goodbye. Call me. Text me. Every night."
" I will."
" I love you."
" love you too. Love you guys bye!"
" bye!" We all said at the same time and then she was gone.
