" I'm gonna go follow her." I said
" have fun with that." Jackson said.
I congratulated jo and alex one more time and than called Mer but no answer. I texted her.

To Mer:

Where are you? What's going on?

But no reply.

I drove home to see the lights on.
I opened the door and Zola came running.
" DADDY!"
" hi sweetheart where's your momma?"
" in the bedroom."
" okay it's late why don't you get ready for bed."
She ran to her room as I went up to the bedroom. I knocked and opened the door.
" Mer?" She was already under the covers. I sat by her side.
" Mer what's wrong?"
" nothing."
" meredith..."
" just leave me alone please."
" we both know that's not happening, so tell me what's wrong."
She tried to get out of bed and walk away but I grabbed her and pulled her towards me.
" please. Tell me what's wrong."
" I don't know." She started to cry.
" you don't know? But you're crying." I was confused
" I know but I don't know why I'm so sad lately."
" okay, well did it have something to do with you trying to pull my pants down in a bathroom?"
She turned away.
" meredith... Look. At. Me."
She did and I smiled.
" it's possible." Mer said.
" you know I love you right?"
She didn't look at me. I turned her head towards me.
" right?" I asked again.
" yeah."
" and that I would never leave you?"
" yeah."
" that I would give up everything just to be with you."
" yeah."
We just stood there.
" I want to be a mom again."
" you are a mom."
" no Derek, you don't get it."
" then explain it to me."
" ever since Olivia has been all grown up we've been breaking apart. We've been distant. I want another baby Derek."
" oh sweetie, I'm sorry. But a baby is not always going to solve our problems. We need to work them out. I love you. You are the best wife ever. You are the most beautiful, smart, kind, sweet, caring person I have ever met and I love you with everything that I have. I'm going to make you feel like I do. Completely in love with the person standing right in front of me. To not want anyone else in this world but you. To be thinking about you and wanting to come home to you as soon as possible. She looked away again.
" okay?" I asked again turning her towards me again.
" okay."
" I love you."
" I love you too." And I kissed her hard. I knew I needed to make her feel the way she made me feel.
