Into Recovery

I woke up about 4 hours later with chest pain and a headache. Meredith had her head down on my bed. I cleared my throat.
" mer meredith?" I asked.
" derek?! Oh my god you're awake!!"
" mmhmm what happened?"
" you don't remember?"
" I remember seeing Anna's father but nothing else."
" he shot you derek and the police found him and put him in jail."
" ohh."
Amy came in the room.
" hey there's my favorite brother."
" your only brother." He said with a smile.
" yeah and I almost lost you."
" huh?"
" you had a massive brain bleed and coded on the table. But, since you are tough, you fought and we got you back."
" how's my head looking now?"
" it looks good I went over it many times and you just need to heal up now."
" you did good sis."
" thanks."
Cristina came in the room.
" well I have a few more patients so I'll get going and then I'll be back."
" okay. Cristina go ahead."
" well we removed the bullet luckily it did not hit the corroded. We had some difficulties but we got you back."
" no difficulties with my heart right?"
" other that v- tech and it stopping on us no your good derek."
" thank you Cristina."
" you're welcome derek."
As everyone else walked in and told me what happened and how I'm gonna be okay I could feel my wife calm down a little bit.
" dr.shepherd." Someone said. Everyone turned around to see who it was.
" sheriff."
" how you feeling Derek?"
" not bad not great but not bad."
" do you remember ?"
" not everything but once they say things it comes back slowly."
" good good."
" what's going on sheriff."
" we arrested Anna's father again and he escaped."
" again?"
" yeah and we thing he's coming to finish you off."
" to kill me"
" yeah"
" alright so I go home."
" no every police station is out looking for this guy and I'm gonna be here the whole time. I promise he won't get you derek."
