Derek POV:

I woke up to Mer already out of bed.

" Mer?" I called.
" in Zolas room" she called
" how she feeling?"
" she has a normal temperature maybe it was a little bug?"
" maybe come on zo time for breakfast." I said picking her up, spinning her around, an tickling her and then putting her in her seat next to the island counter.
" daddy I got sick yesterday remember so don't ruff me up." She smiled.
" Ohhh right! So no pancakes? Or waffles?" I giggled
" I think I'm okay to have pancakes right?"
" I guess so." I started to make breakfast when Mer brought in Bailey and Olivia. The doorbell rang.
" I got it." I said " watch my pancakes."
I opened the door to see Jo at the door.
" Jo? What's going on?"
" Mer here?"
" yeah. Meredith, Jo is here."
" hey Jo. Derek go watch the kids. Come on in." Mer said
" I'm not staying long I just have a question."
" go ahead."
" well, I have to pick between Ortho and peds and I don't know how to."
" can I take this?" I asked
" sure" Mer said going by the kids.
" okay first of all don't let Alex get in the way of your decision making, ever. He will love you for whatever you do. Second you have two weeks so spend a week on each and see which gives you the high we each get every day."
" thanks derek." She said giving me a hug.
" anytime kiddo want breakfast?"
" no I better get going im gonna be late for surgery"
" good luck."
Mer gave me an I'm impressed look.
" what?" I asked
" that was pretty solid advice."
" thanks." I said giving her a kiss and wrapping my arms around my waist. She fed me a piece of pancake and the kids laughed. We packed them into the car and headed to work.
" DEREK!" I turned to see Mark running towards us.
" what Mark"
" you're coming right?"
" yes Mark? Why are you so nervous."
" well it's our first time having company since kids."
" you mean since Elizabeth and it's not that big of a deal you just have to go with the flow."
" I know."
" you're acting really weird there is something you're not telling me..." My beeper went off " well tell me later I gotta go."
I ran to the 911 page I got from Lexie in the ER.
" what grey?"
" Derek I need to talk to you."
"You do know what 911 means right?"
" yes"
" than where's the patient."
" me. I have a headache."
" Lexie...." I sighed
" can we talk?"
" we already are make it quick."
" I'm pregnant"
" what?"
" and I'm not sure mark wants another kid."
" lex... Congrats!" I gave her a hug " I'll talk to Mark"
" thank you."
I paged Mark.
" so is your thing buying a house?" I asked
" either you're a really good guesser or that page was from Lexie."
" mmhmm so where you gonna live?"
" that's what I was gonna ask you."
" I'll talk to meredith."
" thank you."
" mmhmm"
Meredith was in surgery so I found Lexie.
" you need to tell your sister."
" I'll tell her tonight."
" well you better because Mark wants buy another house so you're coming to live with us."
" okay thank you I will tell her tonight."
" how far along?"
" two weeks."
" congrats Lexie."
" thanks derek."
I walked away and continued with the rest of my day. We all went straight to Mark an Lexie's. They had food already cooking when we went inside.
" Zola why don't you take bailey, and Sofia and go play with the toys."
I said and she ran with the others to the toys. After dinner Lexie stood up.
" I have an announcement, Elizabeth is gonna be three soon an we decided that maybe it was time to have another child. Well after trying Elizabeth is going to be a big sister!" Everyone started to celebrate. Jackson, Alex, Ben and I were standing around drinking beers when Mark came up.
" what now Mark?" I asked.
" do you think I can handle three kids?"
" no." I said
" absolutely not." Ben said
" yeah there's no way." Jackson said and we all laughed. I saw his nervous face.
" but then again everyone doubted me and Mer with our schedules and yet
I couldn't be happier. I'm still standing Mark you will be too"
He calmed down a little bit.
" thanks Derek."
" Yepp." I patted him on the shoulder. Everyone congratulated them again and we all went home after the celebration.
" you know what Mark asked me?" I asked Mer as we were getting ready for bed.
" what?"
" if we think that he can handle three kids."
She looked at me.
" he better be able to he's not leaving my sister."
" no I know that but he thinks with his schedule that he won't be able to handle it."
" what did you tell him?"
" that people said that we wouldn't make it but we are still standing that if we could do it they could."
" wow full of very well worded advice today."
" thank you."
" but we are still holding on by a thread."
" yeah but I wasn't gonna tell him that part."
" smart"
" plus we'll make it. "
" how do you know?"
" we always do."
