I got on the plane and tried to call Meredith again but got her voicemail.
" hey it's meredith leave a message and I'll get back to you." Beep
" hey Mer it's me, I don't want to leave things they way we did. Remember that time when we got into that fight but then we were fine. I want us to be good Mer. I still love you. I love you Meredith and when I said I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you I meant it. I said I wouldn't run. Oh my god. We are both running. What am I doing? What am I supposed to do in D.C.? I'm doing the same thing I did with Addison. I gotta get off this plane. I'm coming home Meredith."

MEREDITH POV:

After the kids bath I saw there was a voicemail from Derek. I listened and started to laugh at him reminiscing.
" I gotta get off this plane. I'm coming home Meredith."
" WHAT?!"
I played it again.
" wait what?"
I was shocked. I called the airline company.
" hello?"
" hi did a man get off of this plane?"
" I don't know ma'am I just started my shift."
I hung up and called D.C.
" hello?" Someone answered
" who am I speaking to?" I asked
" the president of the United States. Who is this?"
" oh hi I'm Derek Shepherds wife Meredith Grey."
" oh nice to finally talk to you."
" yes thank you um did Derek get there yet?"
" you didn't hear?"
" no."
" I'll let him tell you then. Your husband is a good man Mrs. Shepherd."
" oh it's Gre... You know what thank you."
" is everything alright."
" yes thank you have a nice day."
" you too." We hung up.
' where is he?' I thought ' could he be coming home?'

DEREK POV:

I stood up and grabbed my stuff.
" sir where are you going?" A flight attendant asked
" I gotta get off this plane."
" you can't im sorry."
" please I can't leave my wife. Please I'm a doctor."
" we can't let you off the plane."
" PLEASE! You don't understand I'm Dr. Derek Shepherd from Grey Sloan Memorial. Grey is my wife. I need to get home I love her and I need to go home."
Everyone was trying to help me out.
" just let him get off the plane." They all said.
They eventually did. I texted Mark to come pick me up.
" Derek!" He yelled.
" Mark thank you."
" anytime. Now why aren't you leaving?"
" I can't leave everyone behind. I love it here. Plus I have a thing for ferry boats." We both laughed. He drove me home.
" thank you again I'll see you tomorrow?"
" wait a minute I dropped everything for you and I don't even get to see how it ends?"
I laughed.
" fine come on."

MEREDITH POV:

There was a knock on the door.
" coming." I yelled
I opened it.
" Mark? What are you doing here? Where's Sofia and Elizabeth?"
" with callie and Arizona. I think they dropped a package off at my house by accident so I brought it over here."
" okay thanks where is it?"

DEREK POV:

Mark moved out of the way and I stepped in front of the door way.
" hi." I said
" Derek? You got off the plane?!" She was shocked.
I laughed " I got off the plane."
She jumped into my arms. I kissed her hard.
" do you want me to take the kids?" Mark asked
" would you mind?" I asked. We both laughed and he went to grab the kids.
The rest of the night was time to ourselves.
