Nightmare

Our pagers went off at 3 in the morning . Derek and I ran to the ICU and everyone followed.
" what's going on?" I asked a nurse.
" she's umm... " she couldn't finish her sentence and walked away. Owen was just sitting there staring at her.
" OWEN!" Derek yelled. There was tears in his eyes. " OWEN WHATS GOING IN?!"
" she's not responding she's bleeding out. She was awake before."
" what do you mean she was awake? She shouldn't have been awake!" Derek yelled.
" why can't she be awake?" Jo asked.
" she saw what her stomach was like so her body freaked out making her organs fall apart." Addison said.
" so what now?"
" we go back to the OR and try to save her life." Mark said.
We all ran to the OR and started to do what we could. She flatlined. Jackson grabbed the paddles and we showed her multiple times but we all knew. April grabbed his arms and pulled him away.
" everybody?" Owen asked.
We all looked at each other " time of death 4:52."
We all began to take off our gowns and scrub caps. We walked out one by one.
Jo saw our faces.
" oh no." Alex went to give her a hug.
" the dad is here." A nurse said.
" thank you." Owen said. " together?" He continued. We all nodded and headed towards the waiting room where we found a pacing dad.
" Mr. Mais?" Derek asked.
" is my daughter okay? I knew I shouldn't have let her go to her mothers for the weekend."
" we need you to sit." I said.
" oh no please no."
" Derek." Owen said
" Mr. Mais we took your daughter in to do a craniotomy." Derek said
" and as you know over night we had to leave it open." Amelia added
" when we went in this morning she started to hemorrhage."
" and unfortunately we were unable to stop it." Amy said " Grey?"
" so your daughter had multiple injuries due to the accident an we had to leave her open overnight. We kept a close eye on her but unfortunately when she woke up her body freaked out and the sutures weren't holding. We did everything we could. Cristina?"
" over night like everyone has been telling we had to leave her open so the heart was vulnerable. Unfortunately with this much damage we are lucky that the aorta stayed together in one part but something else started to cause the heart to fail."
" we are so sorry Mr. Mais we did everything we could but..." Callie couldn't finish.
" I'm sorry but your daughter is gone." Mark continued. We all had tears in our eyes.
" would you like to see your daughter?" Owen asked.
" yeah I need to say goodbye."
" nurse."
A nurse brought her to the room. We all just sat there. We all started to cry. Derek wrapped his arms around me and kissed the top of my head.
" guys go home. Your shift is over." Owen said.
" that's all the surgeons plus the chief." Addison said.
" no I'm not leaving. But we got to get through this one."
" no one's leaving." Cristina said " that was a hat surgery, no doubt about it. But we have been through worse and we are still standing. Nobody's saying we go back into the OR I'm dying we stay." She continued. We all nodded our wads and sat down.
" so you're leaving? For good?" Owen asked.
" for good." Cristina smiled
" when?"
" I leave at the end of the week."
" wow."
" don't worry I'll say my goodbyes."
We all sat there until the end of the day. Then we all went home. It was gonna be a while until we all recover from this one.
