The conjoined twins

We all were waiting anxiously for the babies. The doors flew open.
" Derek." Addison said and I helped grab the gurneys. We put the kids under.
" did she name them yet?" I asked
" yes, the boy is Nathan and the girl is Kayla."
" okay let's do this."
We began the surgery. Once they were separated we took them to two different ORs.
The surgery was over and I went to check up on the other baby.
" Robbins?" I asked walking in.
" closing now. The other baby?"
" heading to NICU now."
" good. We'll go talk to Amelia when we're done here."
We waited for everyone so we could go talk to my sister. We walked in.
" so how are my babies? Derek?" She asked and I sat by her side.
" they are fine." Arizona said
" wait what?" She looked at me
" they're fine kiddo. You did good".
" can I see them?"
" of course you can. We'll bring them in." Arizona said.
They rolled them in and Amelia started to cry. We let them get some time alone. We were standing in the hallway when Mer grabbed her stomach as she groaned. I was talking to the nurse.
" Mer you okay?" Mark asked
" get...get Derek." She breathed
" hey Der!" Mark yelled.
" one minute." I said. He tapped me on the shoulder.
" ahh Mark this is nurse Liz, this Mark Sloan."
" hi very nice to meet you. Derek I need you now."
" can it wait a minute?"
" no now."
The nurse looked passed me and widened her eyes. People were yelling but I didn't know what about.
" Umm Dr. shepherd. Look." She said pointing in back of me.
" it's meredith." Mark said
" meredith..." I ran over.
She was on the floor.
" DEREK! OH MY GOD!" She screamed.
" what's going on?" I asked Addie.
" I don't know. her water didn't break. Cooper, Charlotte I'm gonna need your help." She said
" Sam, Naomi go to the desk and get me a trauma room and someone go get me a gurney." She continued. Everyone scattered. Mark was the only one standing by my side.
" it's going to be okay. It's gonna be alright." Mark said
" maybe four kids was too much for her."
" don't say that."
" I pushed her for another kid... I don't think she was ready."
They rushed her to a trauma room. Mark was standing next to me. Addison did an ultrasound.
" Addison is there a heart beat?" I asked. Meredith was passed out from the pain.
I could see the tears is Addison's eyes.

ADDISON POV:

There wasn't a heart beat.
" ADDISON!" Derek yelled.
" Derek if I'm gonna find one I need everyone to shut up!"
" Everyone be quiet!" Richard yelled. It was complete silence. Still nothing. I looked up at Cooper and gave him the nod to shut off the monitor. He shut it off. Everybody had tears in their eyes.
" Derek..." Was all I could say.
" she lost it didn't she. We lost the baby."
" Derek we are so sorry." Cooper said
" was it a boy or a girl?"
" what?" Alex asked
" I want to know. Boy or girl."
" Derek don't do this." Charlotte said
" boy." I said " it was a boy."
" a boy..." His eyes filled with tears and he tried to hold them back but couldn't. He left the room.
