AN: Thhis chapter actually has a language key. Piarari is a language that ArixMonster and I created just for this collaboration. Hope you all enjoy. The pronunciations are in brackets next to the Piarari words. As always be sure to comment and vote.

Piarari Key:

Avai huxe nav xal (a-vay-ee hucks nav zaal): You have my word

"I still don't think you should go," Farryn said.

She was pacing around the motel room, while I stood in front of the mirror, fixing my hair and adjusting the earring in my left ear.

"Let it go Farryn," I told her.

"Cyris, I promised your father I'd keep you safe," she reminded me.

"I know," I replied.

Farryn's displeasure with what I was planning to do this evening was understandable. I was going out to the local bar this evening to try and get some information about the whereabouts of the Trillium Regime. I wanted to see how far ahead of them we were, if at all. But the last time I'd gone out to get information had ended badly, and I had the scars on my right shoulder to prove it. Farryn had spent that entire night healing me and giving me an earful for being so reckless.

"Farryn, it's not going to be like last time," I assured her.

"We have the things we need, we could just get out of Silverport right now," Farryn reasoned.

She was right about that. We'd gone out earlier and bought more first aid supplies, and I decided to buy new under clothes as well. Normally we would get food for our trip too, but I figured we would wait on food until the day we actually left. We had enough to sustain us for a little while, which I was grateful for because at this point, I was close to broke.

"Do you want to walk ahead blindly and potentially end up in a city with members of the Trillium Regime running around?" I asked. "Because that's exactly what we'll be doing if we don't get information."

Farryn said nothing at first. She knew I was right.

"Okay," Farryn relented. "Just promise me that you'll get out of there at the first sign of trouble."

"I promise, Farryn. Avai huxe nav xal," I vowed, letting the Piarari words slip through my lips. "You have my word."

Hearing my voice say those Piarari words made me miss Espor. Piarari was the national language of Espor and my family often spoke it at home in Blackwater. I could still speak it fluently because Farryn had helped me practice over the years. Although, I chose not to speak in Piarari all the time. After all, I wanted to lay low.

I finished getting ready and said goodbye to Farryn. She'd most likely be returning to the Ivory Isles while I was gone, but I'd see her when I got back. She gave me one last worried look before vanishing. I sighed and left the motel room, making sure to lock the door behind me.
