Piarari Key
Vasia (vah-sia): snowflake

Even with the alcohol in my system, I didn't get much sleep. I woke up to a text from Polaris and I fumbled to open it. My head hurt and my vision was a bit blurry. Polaris had sent me a few pictures of the crow tattoo Rosanna had mentioned yesterday. Something about it was familiar but...I couldn't put my finger on it. I wanted more opinions, texted Kian and Ren, and told them I wanted to meet in Kian's study. As I put away my phone, I noticed that it was already early afternoon.
I went directly to Kian's study after getting ready, only stopping to grab a piece of buttered toast to munch on from the kitchen. By the time I got to the study, Ren was already there, sitting on the couch. Kian had texted us that he had to deal with his Court, but he'd be here as quickly as possible. Thoughts of Rosanna clouded my mind and I started pacing in front of the fireplace as I thought about how fearful and distressed she seemed on the phone last night.
"Cyris...you're going to wear a hole in Kian's floor," Ren told me as he watched me pace.
"I should be there, Ren! I don't care what Rose said," I uttered. "I mean I do! But... Ugh!"
"I know. I'm concerned too, Cyris...but she's okay," Ren assured me. "She defended herself and Polaris took care of the rest. She's alive, Cyris."
Kian rushed into the room, interrupting the small spat Ren and I were having.
"I came as soon as I could. I'm sorry I didn't come sooner. Stupid Court meetings. You're sure Rose is safe?" Kian asked.
"Yes...she's safe now," I scoffed.
"I got a text from Sidra after it happened," Ren stated. "Apart from the bruise on her arm and the cut on her leg, Rose wasn't harmed. Though I'll be having a serious talk with the guards when we get back. That assassin should not have been allowed to even make it onto the castle grounds, let alone scale the wall up to the balcony of the master suite."
Kian crossed his arms over his chest, unimpressed and giving me a serious look.
"Has your royal guard been compromised?" he asked.
"I hope not! Finding the spy would be like finding a needle in a haystack," I groaned.
"I don't know which is worse...a spy or incompetent guards. I don't think the guard has been compromised. Although, I do wonder who was on watch that night," Ren added.
"Ask Sidra, get the list of posts for the guards that night," I instructed Ren.
Ren did as he was told and typed furiously on his phone, texting Sidra.
"And you two really can't think of anyone who would want my sister dead?" Kian quizzed.
"No," Ren replied as he looked up from his phone, having sent the text. "The only person who seems to have a legitimate reason for wanting Rose dead is Circe. And she's locked up tight in the dungeon. And all her guards have been accounted for."
"That's not entirely true..." I admitted.
"Wait what?" Ren inquired. "Who else is there, Cyris?"
"I mean...I'd hate to think that he'd honestly want her dead..."
"Who? Who is it?" Kian asked curiously.
"He just...he was so angry. Compared to everyone else, he seemed to despise Rose," I bit my lip.
