"Presenting, King Kian Aster, and Princess Rosanna Aster of Riofalt!" the royal herald spoke.
The doors were open and my eyes landed on Rosanna right away, I barely noticed Kian standing next to her. The sight was unparalleled to anything I'd ever seen. My breath caught in my throat as my eyes roamed over her. We were already married and yet, I had the wedding jitters all over again. I wasn't even the one walking down the aisle but I found myself very nervous. Seeing her in that dress was such an astounding moment. It was like something right out of my dreams.
Kian walked her down the aisle and they eventually reached me. Kian kissed Rosanna's forehead.
"I love you, little sister," he told her softly.
"Love you too, big brother," Rosanna replied. I reached out my hand for Rosanna's and Kian placed her hand in mine, thereby blessing our marriage and giving away his sister. Rosanna stepped forward and stood across from me at the altar. We gazed at each other and exchanged big smiles.
"Friends, family, noble guests from near and far, we are gathered here today to witness this sacred union of love," the officiant began. "King Cyris Castellan of Espor has chosen Princess Rosanna Aster of Riofalt as his bride. We're here to celebrate this fact, and show our support for the new royal addition."
Rosanna touched her baby bump and looked at me with sparkling eyes. I grabbed her hands and held them tenderly.
"Now, it is time for this special ceremony to begin," the officiant stated. He looked back and forth between Rosanna and me. "Did you have your own vows to recite? Or are we using the traditional exchange?"
"He's already heard my vows...we can use the traditional ones," Rosanna stated without looking away from me. "If His Majesty agrees, that is?"
"I do agree. We'll use traditional vows," I smiled.
"Very well then, Your Majesty, repeat after me," the officiant told me. "I, Cyris Castellan, take you, Rosanna Aster, to be my lawfully wedded wife."
"I, Cyris Castellan, take you, Rosanna Aster, to be my lawfully wedded wife," I repeated. Hearing myself was surreal. I never thought I would be getting married, I never even considered it. Until I met her.
"I vow to cherish you, protect you, and ensure your happiness for the rest of our lives," the officiant continued.
"I vow to cherish you, protect you, and ensure your happiness for the rest of our lives."
"I vow to be your shelter when you need it and bring you comfort when you are distressed. I vow to be your best friend and offer you guidance as needed. I vow to guard your heart and keep its key close to mine," the officiant told me to say.
"I vow to be your shelter when you need it and bring you comfort when you are distressed. I vow to be your best friend and offer you guidance as needed. I vow to guard your heart and keep its key close to mine," I repeated. My eyes glistened as the realization of today seemed to finally hit me. Rosanna was going to rule by my side from now on. We were going to be more than just husband and wife, we were going to be the King and Queen of Espor.
The officiant turned to Ren. "Will you pass the King the wedding ring please?"
Ren handed me the wedding ring I needed to put on Rosanna's left hand. It was a silver trimmed band with black iron vines in the middle. There was a single diamond in the center of the black vines.
