Vasia (vah-sia): snowflake
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
It had been two months since Megara had been dealt with and during that time, Rosanna and I had grown closer and strengthened our bond. Not only that, but Sidra had decided that a baby shower would be a good idea. So the last two months had been spent planning that as well as renovating the master suite.
We were adding on a nursery for the new addition to our family. Traditionally, the King and Queen spent very little time with their children and used nannies. But my parents hadn't done that. Rosanna and I had discussed it and she told me that she didn't want a nanny for our child. She'd also said that she wanted our baby nearby for the first couple of years before they moved out of the nursery. And I agreed with her on both points.
Speaking of Rosanna, she was currently standing in front of a full length mirror in the master suite looking at herself as she got ready for the day. I couldn't help but admire how amazing she looked in her maternity clothes. She was wearing leggings and a sweater with a cowl neck. Her hair was done up in a loose braid and I couldn't help but admire her. I came up behind her and wrapped my arms around her, resting my hands on her stomach, gently rubbing her baby bump.
"You look radiant," I praised.
"You think so?" she asked. "I think I look exhausted."
"No, you look amazing! You're glowing," I beamed.
"That's so sweet of you to say, love."
"I'm just being honest, Vasia."
Seeing her this way, seeing her pregnant and ethereal as our child grew within her, brought me indescribable joy. I couldn't wait to meet my son, for me to hold his little body in my arms, to breathe him in as I held him... I couldn't wait to watch him sleep, lost in a dream world that he created.
"What do you have planned for today?" Rosanna asked, bringing me out of my thoughts.
I sighed. That was a great question. I pulled out my phone and looked at my schedule. Believe it or not, I actually had most of the day free; I had a few meetings later in the evening though.
"Well, it looks like my first meeting isn't until seven. It's with the Duke of Neptris," I told her. "So, I'm pretty free for the day. What about you?"
You would think that Rosanna being Queen meant she could lounge around most of the time, but her life was the exact opposite. In fact, Rosanna almost had as many responsibilities as I did.
"Meetings in the morning. I'm supposed to go over my plans for the new youth center with a few builders. You know, the one for children and youth affected by the war. But I have most of the afternoon free and get to spend some time in the greenhouse," she replied. "Will you come visit me there?"
"I'd love to," I smiled. "When is your first meeting this morning?"
She glanced at her phone and her eyes widened. "In about forty five minutes, I'd better eat and get to my study," Rosanna gasped.
Then there was a knock at the door. I looked at Rosanna curiously.
"Sidra?" I quizzed.
Sidra came into the room with a wide grin, and I glared at her.
"What did I say about coming in without an invitation?"
"I heard my name...it's close enough," she shrugged.
