Vasia (vah-sia): snowflake
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The storm my sister and I had created subsided until it disappeared. I was breathing heavily, and I felt so tired, I was ready to pass out on my feet. My body swayed, then I felt someone grab me and give me support. I glanced to the left to see Ren, who beamed at me with a grin. He wrapped one of my arms around his neck, then used his free arm to wrap around my waist, supporting most of my weight.
Polaris had completed his examination on Rosanna and approached me.
"Rose and the baby are fine, Cyris. She's just exhausted," he told me. "And by the looks of it...you need to rest too."
"I do...but first, Circe and Caja need to be judged. Ren, tell your men to gather up the rest of the Trillium members," I told him.
Ren nodded, then turned to his men. "You heard the King. Go find whoever is left that has allegiance to the Trillium, and cuff them," Ren ordered.
"Cyris...don't...don't forget about the promise you made to...Nerida," Rosanna said softly.
I looked at my Queen and gave her a feeble smile. "I could never forget, Vasia," I replied. The guards rushed off to carry out Ren's order and I turned back to my sister. "Circe Castellan, for your crimes against the crown, I, Cyris Castellan, King of Espor, hereby sentence you to imprisonment. You and your familiar, Caja, will be locked up in a cell," I told her. "Ren, take them away."
"What about you two?" Ren asked.
"Polaris and Farryn will help us, Ren," Rosanna assured him. "We'll be fine."
I nodded in agreement. Ren reluctantly released me while Rosanna poured a healing potion down Farryn's throat. She healed up enough to stand, and she wrapped one of my arms around her neck as she held onto my side, supporting my weight. Rosanna made the ice around Circe vanish, then Ren cuffed my sister and her familiar before dragging them both away. Polaris scooped Rosanna up in his arms as they left.
Farryn and I led Rosanna and Polaris down the hall and up the stairs. We walked down a hall of family portraits and my heart ached as I viewed them all. Photographs and paintings of my parents and sister lined the walls, giving me this sense of nostalgia. Finally, we reached the master suite and Farryn hesitated.
"Did you want to sleep here?" she asked.
"I doubt the bed in my old room would be big enough for me and Rose," I stated.
Farryn nodded.
We entered the enormous master bedroom and I immediately noticed that not much had changed about it. There were three doors in the room: one led to the bathroom, one led to a walk-in closet, and the final door was actually a set of french doors and led out to the balcony. All the windows, and even the french doors, were framed by blood red curtains. The walls were black and the trims were charcoal. The king sized bed was made of black wood and the sheets were deep red, different from the gray I was used to seeing. There was a dark red curtain on the bed that could be drawn for privacy. Off to one side was a vanity and a dresser, both made of black wood as well. There was a fireplace in another corner of the room, framed by a couple of inky black bookshelves. There was a blood red armchair and a loveseat in front of the fireplace. Near the bookshelves was a desk with a chair in front of it.
"Polaris and I will clear out Circe's things and put them in her childhood room," Farryn told me as she helped me into the armchair. Polaris set Rosanna down on the loveseat. "And we'll bring your bags from Sidra and Ren's house, and from the apartment in Silverport. We shouldn't be long. You two just relax."
