I held Rosanna close as she cried. Hearing her sobs made my heart hurt.
“What for?” I asked. Why was she apologizing?
“I kicked you out of the apartment,” she replied shakily. “I made you sleep on the couch. I shut you out. I hurt you and I’m sorry.”
“No, Rose, you had every right to do that...” I objected.
“I shut you out, Cyris,” she sobbed. “When I let go with you, I promised myself that I’d never shut you out. And I did…”
“Don’t do that... Don’t beat yourself up. I also tried to shut you out, so if we’re pointing blame, then we’re even.”
“Will…Will you sleep in my room with me again?” she asked. I could see the desperation in her eyes, and hear the longing in her voice. I wanted her back next to me. I wanted her close as I slept. I needed that and so did she apparently. So I obeyed without hesitation.
I smiled, and we headed to her bedroom. She crawled under the covers and held out her arms for me. I got under the covers and pulled her body close to mine, wrapping my arms around her, and resting my chin on her head. She snuggled up to my chest and we drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, I did my best to let Rosanna sleep in. I knew she didn’t get to sleep much the night before, so I wanted her to get a little more. I decided to shower and clean up around the apartment for Rosanna while she slept. While I was sweeping the floor, I heard her gorgeous voice call out.
“Cyris?!”
I rushed into the bedroom and saw Rosanna sitting up in bed with a distraught look on her face. She was running her hands through her hair.
“Yes baby? I mean…Rosanna?” My mind was so used to what we had before, I still couldn’t get my head together. “Are you okay?”
“I…I can’t stop thinking about that dream,” she admitted. “I…I didn’t sleep well.” It was then that I noticed the dark circles under her eyes.
I sat down on the bed next to her, and placed my hand on her upper back. I could tell by the emotion in her beautiful green orbs, that the dream really had an impact on Rosanna.
