Last night I was freed from Akodic's curse. Rosanna found a cure for me, at Argyn's Temple of Life. She, of course, did all of this without my knowledge, but I'm very grateful that she, and my unborn child, came back to me safely.
Currently everyone was sitting in the library, eating breakfast while the fire burned in the hearth. Rosanna set her empty plate down and turned to the rest of us.
"I think it's time we seriously discussed Espor..." she stated.
Kian, Arissa, and Felix looked to me for an answer.
"I'm not an expert, you guys..." I bit my lip. "Once we get into the city of Blackwater, it will be much easier. We will have to find some dark cloaks or something."
"I'm going with you, Cyris, I hope you know that," Rosanna told me.
"Going with me to get the clothes?" I asked.
"Going with you to Espor."
"NO!" Kian and I yelled together.
Rosanna's eyes flashed an angry icy blue.
"You can't sideline me! Cyris, if you think I'm letting you walk into Espor, which is currently crawling with Trillium soldiers, alone, then obviously you don't know me very well," she stated as she crossed her arms.
Arissa pinched the bridge of her nose. "Here we go," she said under her breath.
"You can stay here, help Kian rebuild Wintervale's castle," I answered.
"Yeah, Rose! You'll be safe here with Arissa, Felix, and me until Cyris is done," Kian added.
"So you're telling me that I, as the future Queen of Espor, can't go and fight for the Esporian people? That I can't protect the future King of Espor, who also happens to be my soulmate?!" Rosanna demanded as her eyes flashed silver.
"Hey, now... Just calm down, babe..." I held up my hands in surrender.
"Is this your way of ordering me around?! After all, I'll just be a pretty ornament in the Esporian throne room right?!"
"Rose, that's not fair," Kian objected.
Her remark hit a nerve, and I admit rage flared inside of me. I felt my power spike, making my eyes black and my veins glow.
"Are you serious, right now?!" I shouted and stood up from the table.
"You're trying to sideline me!" she growled as she stood up. "You're not letting me do my job as a future Queen! I have just as much right to protect Espor now as you do Cyris! That place is going to be my home! Our child's home!"
"You're not going!" I yelled through gritted teeth.
Rosanna ran her hands through her hair.
"Do you want to die?! Because that's exactly what's going to happen if you face Circe without me next to you!" she shouted.
"So are you saying I won't be able to protect our family by myself?!" I countered.
"I'm saying you'll stand a much better chance of protecting our family if I'm with you!"
"I think you both are being childish," Arissa spoke. She looked very annoyed when I glanced at her.
"Childish?! Because I don't want my future to be ruined?! That makes me childish?!" I snapped at her. I knew I shouldn't have, it was Arissa, but I was beyond angry.
